Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure compliance of fluids and cement activities with operational and environmental standards.
  • Optimize fluids related to engineering and operations to facilitate well operations performance.
  • Supervise fluids and cement activities in the field, implementing the fluids and cement program and coordinating activities between service companies and drilling contractors to optimize performance.
  • Demonstrate commitment to HSE policy and participate in safety awareness and initiative schemes.
  • Contribute to performance improvement, well design, non-productive time reduction, and operational cost optimization while maintaining safety and preventing pollution.
  • Maintain full compliance with all applicable statutory, company, and contractor HSE standards.
  • Participate in emergency response preparedness and crisis management when required.
  • Optimize the application of fluids, cement, and waste management services in the field, ensuring best procedures are followed.
  • Ensure all fluids and cement programs and procedures are available, understood, and properly implemented.
  • Execute drilling fluids engineering programs and apply engineering studies in real time using simulation software.
  • Support the drilling supervisor in optimizing overall drilling performance.
  • Follow up on all field operations and perform quality assurance, including daily lab tests, chemical consumption, logistics control, and inventory management.
  • Provide daily reports on ongoing operations and planning to the Fluids Superintendent.
  • Report any restrictions in fulfilling objectives with respect to drilling operations.
  • Provide detailed analysis of fluids and cement related operations, sharing lessons learned and experience gained.
  • Produce phase and final recaps for each service and compile summaries and environmental discharges for each wellbore in comprehensive end-of-well reports.
  • Record and report KPIs at each well's completion, highlighting any service company issues encountered.
  • Ensure permanent quality of data reporting.
  • Investigate and report equipment failures and non-conformances, proposing corrective actions.
  • Review and report waste management, chemical and fluids consumption, and discharge reporting in compliance with Qatar environmental laws.
  • Ensure job tickets and invoices match ongoing contracts and completed jobs.
  • Support training, coaching, and motivation of field personnel to meet company standards.
  • Contribute to knowledge transfer and competency development within the team.

Requirements

  • Graduate level education or similar, with engineering training and a high level of technical knowledge in fluids and cement.
  • Minimum of 5 years' experience in offshore drilling operations.
  • Good working knowledge of internal and external rules, standards, and procedures in fluids and environmental areas, with training appropriate to statutory regulations.
  • Fluent spoken and written English.
  • Valid IWCF (surface), BOSIET / T-BOSIET, and H2S (OPITO) certifications.
