HSSE Supervisor - EPIC

Key Responsibilities

  • Review site and project-specific HSE policies and procedures to ensure proper implementation and compliance with contract requirements.
  • Take necessary action, within level of responsibility, for rectifying breaches of procedures or newly identified hazards.
  • Undertake inspection tours in areas of responsibility to ensure adherence to established procedures.
  • Prepare and submit daily activity reports, including inspection findings and recommended corrective actions.
  • Prepare HSE documents, including Method Statements, work permit procedures, and safety equipment requisitions, to ensure compliance with established standards.
  • Liaise with other disciplines in assigned area to maintain updated HSE records and ensure HSE support is available during operational activities.
  • Ensure all department activities are performed safely, productively, and efficiently, seeking continual improvements in work systems.
  • Ensure compliance with established policy and procedures, including Quality Health, Safety & Environmental local legislation and client requirements.
  • Provide safety and loss prevention information, support, and mentoring for operational personnel and other internal clients to ensure safe and hygienic conduct of work.
  • Ensure safety equipment and facilities are maintained in optimum working condition by developing and implementing inspection and preventative maintenance programs, and maintaining efficient record-keeping systems.
  • Participate in HSE procedures governing the Permit to Work system and provide independent monitoring by reviewing selected permits.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise the day-to-day activities of onshore Safety Officers.
  • Assist in the development of safe operating and emergency procedures, manuals, bulletins, and safety publications.
  • Participate in incident control during emergencies or incidents.
  • Lead or assist in investigations into near misses, property damage, injury, occupational illness, and spills/loss of containment, ensuring that database records of such incidents are maintained.
  • Assist in the development and conduct of safety training courses and inductions, and participate in training and development of Project Safety Officers.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of project site and equipment during construction and commissioning, and participate in audits of safety program implementation.
  • Ensure induction training sessions on the HSSE Management System for new arrivals and update training modules on any changes in OH&S and EMS.
  • Ensure that Project/Facility HSE Tracking registers are updated and resolved/closed within the set time frame.
  • Support project/facility discipline supervision during execution of assignments and recommend ways to execute work in the safest possible manner.
  • Collate and prepare data required for Project/Facility HSSE Performance Management Review Meetings.
  • Promote and demonstrate commitment to Quality Health, Safety, and Environment philosophy and objectives.
  • Focus on the needs of the customer/client and strive to exceed their expectations.
  • Keep abreast of new technology, developments, safe working practices, government regulations, and relevant international codes of practice in the safety and loss prevention field.
  • Ensure the accurate and timely completion of required reports and schedules.
  • Perform related duties as assigned by the superior.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in relevant Engineering or relevant HSE qualifications with minimum 8 years' relevant experience in EPIC and Oil, Gas & Petrochemicals plants.
  • Minimum 3 years' related experience in a supervisory role in EPIC projects.
  • Professional Safety accreditation with an internationally recognized body (Nebosh, IOSH, or equivalent).
  • Good knowledge and awareness of other project discipline activities.
  • Fluent in English (writing, speaking, and listening) and ability to review, update, and create policies and procedures.
  • Good coordination and presentation skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of international safety codes and standards.
  • Computer literacy.
