Civil/Structural Engineer - Offshore Construction

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise erection, installation, and alignment of offshore structural components
  • Ensure compliance with AFC drawings, engineering specifications, and applicable standards
  • Coordinate lifting and heavy structural fabrication activities with construction crews
  • Review structural design documents, redlines, and technical queries
  • Perform site checks and dimensional verifications during installation
  • Provide support for brownfield modification works and tie-ins
  • Ensure site work follows QA/QC requirements, welding standards (AWS/ASME), and project procedures
  • Conduct inspections with clients and classification authorities where required
  • Maintain proper documentation, including ITPs, welding logs, NCRs, and method statements
  • Enforce safety protocols and ensure safe execution in congested offshore environments
  • Participate in risk assessments, constructability reviews, and lift planning
  • Address SIMOPS challenges with multidisciplinary teams
  • Interface with marine, piping, mechanical, electrical, and HSE teams
  • Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and subcontractors to resolve field issues
  • Attend progress meetings, report status, and highlight constraints

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (mandatory)
  • Experience: 3-10 years' experience in offshore construction or heavy industrial projects (mandatory)
  • Familiarity with brownfield work and shutdown activities is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of offshore structural codes
  • Expertise in structural fabrication, welding, scaffolding, lifting operations, and Habitats installation
  • Ability to interpret structural drawings, 3D models, and survey reports
  • Competence in field engineering tools and basic structural calculations
  • Excellent team coordination and problem-solving abilities
  • Offshore survival and safety certifications (BOSIET/HUET) preferred
