Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct or participate in interactive planning sessions to create EPC contractor's schedule deliverables.
  • Perform what-if analysis, workaround identification, float analysis, critical path identification, and recommend corrective actions to mitigate unfavorable schedule deviations.
  • Review contractor's baseline schedule and Earned Value Management System (EVMS) as the project baseline or benchmark.
  • Analyze and offer corrective actions to meet planned progress per discipline.
  • Validate claimed progress by analyzing contractor's deliverables and construction activities.
  • Identify interface points between contractors' schedules to ensure coordination and optimization of the project plan.
  • Validate progress and payment milestones claimed in contractor's monthly invoices.
  • Monitor contractor's compliance with best practices of project planning, scheduling, and contractual requirements for EPC schedule development and updates.
  • Estimate schedule impact of changes and variances.
  • Support the Project Management Team with preparing weekly and monthly status reports and project dashboards.
  • Review contractor's weekly and monthly reports for accuracy.
  • Prepare charts, tables, and 3-week lookahead schedules to assist the Project Management Team in managing the overall project.
  • Assist in development of schedule identification, storage, retrieval, and report format standardization.
  • Identify and assess period changes in schedule using scheduling software.
  • Participate in project risk management workshops, implement mitigation actions, and quantify schedule contingency.
  • Develop, maintain, review, and update integrated project schedules using Primavera P6, including detailed Level 3/Level 4 schedules as required.
  • Perform schedule health checks, critical-path and near-critical-path analysis, identifying emerging risks and potential delays.
  • Develop and review short- and medium-term look-ahead schedules and identify constraints that may affect planned activities.
  • Perform schedule variance and trend analysis against the approved baseline and recommend appropriate mitigation and recovery actions.
  • Support forecasting of key project milestones, including construction completion, mechanical completion, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Support time-impact analysis and assessment of contractor schedule claims as required.
  • Review contractors' progress measurement methodology, productivity, and earned value performance.
  • Support preparation of weekly/monthly management dashboards, S-curves, schedule KPIs, and progress reports.
  • Coordinate schedule interfaces across engineering, procurement, construction, pre-commissioning, commissioning, and start-up activities.
  • Ensure schedule information is aligned, where applicable, with project cost, risk, change-management, and progress-control processes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree or above in engineering or related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Expertise in Primavera P6, schedule risk analysis, and Acumen Fuse.
  • Strong understanding of Microsoft Office products including Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Previous capital project experience with an operator and/or EPC contractor.
  • Experience in petrochemical unit design, engineering, construction, commissioning, and start-up.
  • Strong knowledge of Critical Path Method (CPM), Earned Value Management (EVM), progress measurement, schedule forecasting, and schedule variance analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience in reviewing, analyzing, and challenging EPC contractor baseline and updated schedules.
  • Experience in schedule recovery planning, mitigation strategies, and time-impact analysis.
  • Ability to analyze schedule trends, identify potential delays and constraints, and provide recommendations to project management.
  • Strong team-building skills and ability to work with peers, company employees, and contractors.
  • Excellent planning, organizational, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Self-starter with desire to lead and take responsibility.
  • Strong commitment to safety.
  • Knowledge of industry standards.
  • Flexibility to work in both the project office in Doha and site office in Ras Laffan Industrial City, Qatar.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience on grass-roots mega capital petrochemical, LNG, or oil & gas projects.
  • Experience supporting large-scale projects through construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
  • Experience working in the Middle East region.
