Rigging Supervisor

Key Responsibilities

  • Understand third party approved lift plans.
  • Prepare and propose lifting plans for non-critical lifts.
  • Analyze and suggest suitable cranes, lifting gears, tools, and tackles for non-critical lifts.
  • Assess risks and propose mitigation measures for lifting activities during the preparation stage.
  • Coordinate with third party lifting surveyors during critical lifts.
  • Conduct toolbox meetings with riggers.
  • Guide, supervise, and coordinate riggers during preparation and job execution.
  • Demonstrate expertise in two crane operations and critical lifts.
  • Oversee lifting activities involving vessels, equipment, intricate shapes, and operations conducted at heights up to 50 meters.
  • Check loads to be moved, estimate size, shape, weight, and center of gravity, and ensure loads do not exceed crane lifting capacities.
  • Maintain vigilance for people or objects in the path of the load, and use appropriate communication methods (hand signals, whistles, two-way radios) when the load is not visible to crane or winch operators.
  • Supervise lifting and shifting/moving of heavy equipment, large size pipes, control valves, etc., with cranes up to 500T capacity.

Requirements

  • Technical Diploma in a relevant trade (10 years schooling plus 3 years diploma).
  • 12 years of relevant maintenance experience in the oil & gas, petrochemical, or fertilizer industry.
  • Valid Rigging Supervisor certificate from a competent and certified agency.
  • Expertise in critical lifts and two crane operations.
  • Experience with lifting activities involving heavy and complex equipment at significant heights.
