Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Systems Engineer specialising in Power Platform solutions to manage and deliver business-critical IT projects and digital solutions. The role covers the full project lifecycle, from requirements gathering and feasibility assessment through procurement, solution design, implementation, deployment, and project delivery.
The successful candidate will combine strong technical knowledge with project management, procurement, vendor management, and stakeholder engagement experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the complete project lifecycle, ensuring projects are delivered effectively, on schedule, and in line with approved requirements and budgets.
- Gather, review, analyse, and document business and user requirements.
- Prepare feasibility studies, business cases, technical requirements, functional requirements, and high-level design documentation.
- Translate business requirements into practical IT and Power Platform solutions.
- Define project scopes of work and support the design, implementation, and deployment of business solutions.
- Manage software procurement activities, including requirements definition, tendering, vendor engagement, and commercial negotiations.
- Conduct detailed technical and commercial evaluations of vendor bids and proposals.
- Coordinate vendor selection and acquisition of the resources, software, and services required for successful project delivery.
- Ensure solutions are developed and implemented in accordance with Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC), information security, and corporate IT requirements.
- Identify project risks and develop appropriate mitigation and recovery strategies.
- Monitor project progress, dependencies, risks, issues, budgets, and deliverables.
- Maintain effective communication with stakeholders and provide clear updates on project progress, risks, issues, and changes.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional teams comprising technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously and respond effectively to changing business priorities.
- Apply Agile methodologies to improve project flexibility and responsiveness to evolving requirements.
- Implement corporate technology solutions that address specific operational and business requirements.
- Promote effective collaboration between business users, technical teams, vendors, and other project stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.
- Formal project management training is required.
- PMP certification is preferred.
Experience
- Minimum 9 years of progressive and directly related professional experience.
- Strong experience managing IT projects throughout the complete project lifecycle.
- Experience in software procurement, tendering, technical and commercial bid evaluation, and vendor negotiation.
- Demonstrated experience gathering and analysing business and technical requirements.
- Experience developing functional requirements, scopes of work, business cases, and high-level design documentation.
- Experience implementing enterprise or corporate IT solutions.
- Practical experience applying Agile project delivery methodologies.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary technical and non-technical teams.
