Location: Maputo, Cabo Delgado, Mozambique (Offshore)
Contract Type & Length: 12 Month Annually Renewable Contract
Rotation: 4 weeks on, 4 weeks off (7 days per week, 12 hours per day)

Job Description

This role involves leading and coordinating all operational activities related to sub-sea interventions performed by ROVs, including deck preparations, heavy lifting, and vessel deployment within the oil & gas industry. The position requires managing the organization and preparation for construction and installation of new offshore oil & gas fields.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all operational activities related to sub-sea interventions, deck preparations, heavy lifting, and vessel deployment, assisted by the Vessel's Offshore Manager.
  • Coordinate various entities involved in sub-sea works, including logistics, marine, ROV, survey, SPS technicians, and other specialists as required.
  • Manage personnel onboard vessels, ensuring team spirit, cohesion, and clear understanding of roles offshore.
  • Organize planning for the MPSV in coordination with EPCI, Drilling, and Field Operations teams.
  • Liaise daily with the vessels' Offshore Manager and maintain records of progress and supply status information to the planning coordinator.
  • Address specific queries from specialists, focusing on safety, QA, survey, ROV, marine, and subsea operations.
  • Organize MPSV logistics in coordination with the onshore base and field logistical support.
  • Ensure all operational activities comply with relevant directives, safety rules, memos, and operational manuals.
  • Implement health, environment, and safety policy with all subcontractors onboard.
  • Ensure activities are performed in compliance with operational procedures and approved project documentation.
  • Control and approve installation and transportation procedures, task plans, and lift plans in consultation with all involved parties.
  • Manage subcontractors for installation analysis, procedures, and task plans, ensuring compliance with rules and specifications.
  • Manage MWS scope of work, including suitability surveys, documentation approval, and certificate issuance.
  • Prepare COMOPS/SIMOPS dossier in consultation with all involved parties.
  • Organize planning for contracted personnel and liaise with all logistics contractors involved.
  • Check and pre-validate invoices related to contracted personnel onboard the MPSV.
  • Verify that contractor services comply with contract terms and conditions.
  • Check and approve equipment necessary for execution of works.
  • Report anomalies, near misses, incidents, and dangerous occurrences to the Safety Department.
  • Liaise with vessel owners for contractual and cost matters.
  • Check and pre-validate all invoices related to the MPSV.

Accountabilities

  • Lead Drilling, Completion, and Subsea Teams.
  • Collaborate onshore with Contracts, Marine, Logistics, EPCI, Field Operations, and Project teams.
  • Maintain links with specialists.

Requirements

  • Mechanical or Civil Project Engineer graduate, or at least 8 years' experience as Offshore Manager/Superintendent validated by an approved supervisory scheme certificate.
  • Minimum 15 years' experience in offshore construction and installation, including several years in a contractor company (engineering, offshore operation, offshore installation engineer, offshore supervision).
  • Experience in marine operations, subsea works, and vessel management, preferably in an offshore supervisory position.
  • Experience in logistics management.
  • Experience in project management and as a company site representative.
  • Strong interpersonal relationship skills, ability to work in multi-discipline and multi-cultural environments.
