Job Purpose
An integral member of the construction team for the successful delivery of a major Power and Water Project in Qatar. The role focuses on design review, construction monitoring, and commissioning support for mechanical and process equipment on a 2,400 MW Power and 110 MIGD Desalination Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as an integrated team member with the Construction Team and Owner's Engineer, upholding professional principles and ethics.
- Become familiar with technical requirements, specifications, design, and project documentation within the EPC Contract and PWPA.
- Attend project-related meetings, site meetings, and review contractor reports and documentation as required.
- Assist in the coordination and planning of activities with third parties including relevant local utilities, assessors, and associated facilities.
- Support the review of method statements, procedures, and test plans for manufacturing and site construction/commissioning activities.
- Participate in inspection and site construction and commissioning activities, including walkdowns and punch-list identification.
- Review site test results and documentation.
- Support other team members in construction and O&M activities, including review and coordination of O&M manuals, spares, and related planning.
- Maintain a daily activity diary as agreed with the Construction Director.
- Undertake other tasks as requested by the Construction Director.
- Monitor assigned activity financial performance vs. budgets as requested, ensuring adherence to guidelines and reporting variances.
- Provide input, implement policies and procedures, and maintain compliance with legislative and procedural requirements.
- Identify and participate in opportunities for process and systems improvements aligned to global standards and cost effectiveness.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports to meet project and department requirements and quality standards.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent qualifications from a reputable university.
- Experience: 7-10 years in similar roles within large companies, ideally with complex project experience in power generation and desalination; knowledge of design, construction, commissioning, operations, and maintenance.

- Computer literacy, especially Microsoft Office suite.
- Working knowledge of QCS2024 is advantageous.
- Understanding of the local Qatar and GCC working environment and culture.

Decision Making Authority
Operates in a dynamic corporate setting; key decisions require consultation with and approval by the Construction Director or delegate. High standards of quality and transparency are expected.
