Job Purpose
Be an integral member of the Construction Team for the successful delivery of a major facility in Qatar. Play a key role in design review, construction monitoring, and commissioning support for mechanical and process equipment on a 2,400 MW Power and 110 MIGD Desalination Plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Work as an integrated team member with the Construction Team and Owner's Engineer, upholding team principles and ethics.
- Become familiar with technical requirements, specifications, and project documentation in the EPC Contract and related agreements.
- Attend project-related meetings as requested by the Construction Director.
- Attend site meetings, take meeting minutes, review contractor reports and related documentation as required.
- Assist in the coordination and planning of activities with all third parties, including government energy, water authorities, and stakeholders.
- Support review of method statements, procedures, test plans for manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities.
- Participate in inspection and witnessing of site construction and commissioning activities in conjunction with the Owner's Engineer.
- Participate in system walkdowns, punch-list item raising, defect identification, and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Support review of site test results and documentation.
- Support the work and activities of the wider Construction and O&M Teams.
- Support in the review and coordination of O&M manuals, spares, and related planning activities.
- Maintain a daily activity diary as agreed with the Construction Director.
- Other tasks and activities as requested by the Construction Director.
- Monitor financial performance of assigned activities versus budgets, report variances.
- Implement policies and procedures for the team as needed, ensuring compliance and cost-effective service delivery.
- Participate in identification of opportunities for continuous improvement and sustainability of systems, considering global best practices.
- Prepare timely and accurate reports as required by department standards.
Requirements
- Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputable university or equivalent qualifications.
- Minimum Experience: 7 - 10 years of experience in similar roles within large organizations, preferably in complex environments within the power generation and desalination industry. Experience with conceptual design, construction, commissioning, and O&M.

- Working knowledge of QCS2024 is an advantage.
- Familiarity with local and GCC cultural and professional environments.
