Job Purpose
Provide well technical expertise in the field of well operations, well maintenance, and repairs, including deficiency analysis to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient well operations in alignment with operational standards and management system deliverables.
Job Context & Major Challenges
- Serve as a skillful technical resource to influence and develop Well Operation & Well Maintenance activities by recommending and implementing improvements that enhance reliability, availability, and efficiencies within the section.
- Major challenge includes standardizing the various well programs and procedures amidst differing challenges within the offshore well environment while ensuring operations remain within the approved budget and do not disrupt base business activity.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and coordinate all well maintenance, well integrity testing, and well repair activities to ensure well reliability and availability that meets organizational and shareholder expectations.
- Establish and maintain well O&M strategies and well maintenance plans supporting issued production volume forecasts, aligning with Well Integrity expectations and conforming to both regulatory and management system requirements.
- Respond to emergencies to ensure minimal safety or financial impact to installed assets.
- Coordinate with Offshore Management teams and assigned well maintenance teams to ensure efficient and effective execution of approved well operations and maintenance procedures, including activities utilizing third party services or equipment vendors.
- Evaluate and analyze third party technical reports for relevant OEMs or shareholder subject matter experts to assess potential added value.
Continuous Improvement and Collaboration
- Oversee the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to enhance current working methods and optimize workflows.
- Collaborate with management in facilitating both internal and external section audits.
- Oversee work scoping, work program development, and review for non-routine or high-potential consequence well activities, with a strong focus on effective and secure execution, including incorporating new wells from expansion.
- Interface between offshore planning and offshore maintenance for effective collaboration and proper follow-up on ongoing, completed, and pending activities.
- Provide support to Well & Operations Support leadership and other Offshore Division Managers.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
- Experience: 8 years of experience in rig-less well work operations in the oil and/or gas industry, including at least 3 years in rig-assisted well work operations offshore or on land.
- Technical Knowledge: Understanding of Well Integrity Management, including Sustained Casing Pressure Management, Leak-off testing, and general Wellhead and Christmas Tree maintenance.
- Discipline Familiarity: Familiar with Well Engineering disciplines such as Wellhead, Tree & Surface Equipment, Subsurface Equipment, Cased-hole, and Production Logging.
