Qualification

• Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognised university.
• Formal training in QA/QC functional aspects is preferred.

Experience & Requirements

• Minimum 10 years overall experience in static and rotating equipment installation, including inspection coordination in the construction of midstream/downstream oil and gas facilities.
• Experience as an EPIC Contractor Supervisor is essential; Client or PMC Supervisor experience is preferred.
• Current experience in Qatar industrial cities and/or other GCC countries is required.
• Extensive knowledge of relevant international and industry codes and standards, such as ASME, ANSI, ISO, API, NFPA. API 510 and API 653 certificates are advantageous.
• Extensive experience in coating systems/procedures: painting, galvanising, wrapping, insulation, refractory lining. BGAS/API certification advantageous.
• Extensive experience in static and rotating equipment installation, FAT, alignment, inspection, punch list clearing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and mechanical completion inspections.
• Excellent written and spoken English; able to read equipment layouts, mechanical drawings, P&IDs, and manufacturer's instructions.
• Strong organisational, planning, and coordination skills.
• Experience on greenfield/new-build sites, brownfield/live process plants, Permit to Work, LOTO, live facility tie-ins, stage inspection/testing to approved ITPs and lifting plans/crane studies.
• Approved Lifting Supervisor Certificate is advantageous.
• Strong technical, prioritisation, management, communication, and interface skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and relevant engineering software.

Key Responsibilities

• Liaise with HSE supervision and act as a safety leader.
• Report to the Discipline Construction Lead/Senior Construction Supervisor on main site issues, events, progress, and trends; recommend improvements.
• Assist in review/approval of construction documentation including Method Statements, JHAs, MARs, and attend HSE walkthroughs.
• Supervise EPIC contractor static and rotating equipment inspection and installation activities against approved engineering documentation and project schedule.
• Attend RFIs per approved ITPs, including Material Receiving Inspections, and sign relevant reports.
• Ensure quality of manufacturing and erection works, dimensional accuracy, orientation, and correct installation of accessories and inline items.
• Lead construction contractors on mechanical aspects of static and rotating equipment installation.
• Supervise equipment installation, FAT, alignment inspection, punch clearing, pressure testing, pre-commissioning, and reinstatement.
• Manage and lead final mechanical completion inspections and punch closing.
• Supervise pre-commissioning activities to ensure safety and quality.
• Lead inspection activities with vendors/suppliers at site as required.
• Participate in PSSR and support Operations pre-start-up and start-up activities where instructed.
• Coordinate contractor mobilisation and conduct daily compliance checks.
• Read and understand P&IDs, GAs, structural drawings, equipment layouts, mechanical drawings, and manufacturer recommendations.
• Maintain daily progress records and report anomalies or contractual deviations with recommended corrective actions.
• Sign work permits as authorised and ensure contractor compliance.
• Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation.
• Supervise work in progress, inspect work, report problems, and enforce site safety standards.
• Liaise with QA/QC Inspectors on quality matters.
