Qualification

Education: B.Sc. in Mechanical Engineering from a recognised university, with extensive construction-related experience.

Experience

  • Minimum 10 to 15 years of experience in relevant construction and installation activities/works in oil and gas projects.
  • Extensive experience in large-scale onshore projects.
  • Proven ability in conducting and managing protection of live oil and gas plants as per approved design requirements.
  • Experienced in implementing construction industry best practices, systems, processes, and standards.
  • Strong skills in construction management, effective communication, and conflict resolution.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Supervise construction works executed by contractors to ensure assigned projects comply with approved Scope of Work, engineering design, QHSE standards, and specifications.
  • Review and comment on construction method statements, material submittals, and commissioning procedures from project initiation to completion and handover.
  • Act as signatory authority for Permit to Work for contractor activities.
  • Supervise site construction and installation works under assigned Construction/EPIC contracts and ensure safe execution in compliance with approved engineering standards and specifications.
  • Participate in constructability reviews as required.
  • Review contractors' construction plans and schedules, including method statements and JSAs.
  • Coordinate and control contractor mobilisation to sites, including laydown areas.
  • Facilitate issuance of necessary permits and gate passes.
  • Check, inspect, and test completed project work and/or arrange pre-commissioning inspections and tests. Initiate Mechanical Completion Certificates.
  • Ensure completion and clearance of Punch List items.
  • Review and endorse red-marked-up and as-built drawings.
  • Participate in handover and acceptance, review commissioning procedures, and participate in commissioning of facilities.
  • Review and endorse Construction Dossiers for assigned projects.
  • Support national development activities through appropriate job training and development.
