Qualification
- Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from an internationally recognised university.
Experience
- Minimum 10 to 15 years of overall experience in construction of EHV substations up to 132kV and above, with exposure to mechanical works connected with substation electrical equipment, HVAC equipment, fire alarm and loss prevention systems, and building services.
- Good verbal and written communication skills to interface with internal and external departments, agencies, contractors and vendors.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise EPIC Contractors during construction activities at site.
- Participate in reviewing detailed design drawings, method statements, and material requisitions.
- Coordinate mobilisation of contractors on site.
- Supervise and approve construction activities and coordinate inspections, material submissions, working drawings, and related documentation.
- Conduct daily checks on contractor staff and completed work for compliance with contractual specifications.
- Handle Mechanical Construction activities, including site investigations and surveys.
- Supervise installation of fire electric/diesel pumps and jockey pumps.
- Supervise installation of deluge system piping and underground firefighting piping.
- Supervise installation of fire water tanks.
- Apply good knowledge of deluge and sprinkler systems.
- Maintain daily progress records, report anomalies or contractual deviations, and recommend corrective actions.
- Sign work permits as authorised and ensure contractor compliance with permit conditions.
- Participate in development of as-built drawings/documentation.
- Prepare punch lists for finished work prior to handover, with attention to equipment and quality checks.
- Work closely with other Construction Supervisors across Electrical, Architectural, and Instrument disciplines.
- Report main site issues, events, progress, and trends to the Senior Construction Supervisor and recommend improvements.
- Supervise contractor work in progress, inspect work, report problems, and enforce site safety standards.
- Liaise with QC Inspectors on quality matters and HSE Supervisors on safety matters.
- Prepare daily activity reports and inform relevant stakeholders of progress, constraints, and look-ahead activities.
