Quality Fabrication (Supply Chain Quality) Lead

Work Schedule: 3 weeks on site, 1 week remote, on rotation. Working 5 days per week, 8 hours per day.

Summary
An international engineering, consulting, and project delivery organisation is seeking an experienced Quality Fabrication (Supply Chain Quality) Lead to support the successful delivery of a major industrial project in Northern Sweden.
This role involves overseeing the quality assurance and control of all materials and equipment manufactured for the project supply chain. You will ensure that fabrication activities comply with contractual and CE marking requirements, technical specifications, inspection plans, and industry standards. A key part of this position is coordinating with suppliers, inspectors, logistics, and procurement to guarantee that all items are properly inspected, documented, and released before shipment to site.
You will support the Supply Chain Quality Manager and the Project QA/QC Manager in developing and implementing the quality management system for the fabrication phase, resolving quality issues, and ensuring timely delivery of compliant materials.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and maintain quality procedures and standards for fabrication activities.
- Review and approve suppliers' Inspection and Test Plans (ITPs), welding/NDT procedures, coating plans, and fabrication documentation.
- Coordinate inspections, Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), dimensional checks, and verification of material certificates and traceability.
- Manage Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), corrective actions, and updates to the project Quality Management System (QMS).
- Work closely with procurement, logistics, and planning to ensure timely material release and shipment.
- Lead and coordinate the fabrication quality team and third-party inspectors.
- Conduct supplier audits and monitor performance.
- Prepare quality reports and participate in project meetings.
Requirements
- At least 12 years of experience in fabrication quality management or similar roles with experience on the EPC/EPCM/PMC side.
- Strong background in structural steel, piping, mechanical packages, pressure equipment, or electrical equipment fabrication.
- Solid knowledge of Quality Management Systems, inspection/testing methods, welding/NDT, coatings, and material traceability.
- Proven leadership and team management skills.
- Ability to interpret technical documentation and inspection plans.
- Experience in EPC/EPCM projects.
- Degree in Mechanical, Industrial, Materials Engineering, or similar fields.
- Quality certifications such as ISO 9001, CSWIP, NACE, IWE/IWT are a plus.
- Fluent in English.
