Project Scope of Work
Situated approximately 20 km east of the Gulf line and about 12 km southwest of an existing GOSP-1 facility, this project is focused on delivering water supply sourced from three locations: an established GOSP-1 facility, a new central processing facility (CPF), and a local aquifer for purposes of water treatment and injection. The facility is designed to process up to 1,400MBCD of water for injection, meeting production forecasts up to 2035 to maintain the field's Maximum Sustainable Capability (MSC). The scope also includes expanding the existing GOSP-1 water facilities to manage surplus produced water, addressing capacity needs through 2035.
Job Purpose
The Welding Engineer will review, assess, and manage works related to the allocated FEED/EPC package within their specialization. Serving as the designated welding representative, you will serve as the final engineering authority to review equipment design, materials of construction, fabrication methods, material selection, service conditions, code compliance, constructability, and contractor/vendor performance.
Note: This role reports functionally to a central Welding Group and administratively to the project. The representative is expected to act with independence to avoid conflicts of interest, supporting the project while maintaining technical objectivity.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Plan and prepare schedules to ensure timely completion of finishing work.
- Ensure work progresses in alignment with project deadlines.
- Review, guide, and manage FEED/EPC contractors in developing scopes of work defined in Work Entity Releases (WER's).
- Provide technical support to project management teams and engage in discipline-related activities such as static equipment, piping, material selection, corrosion control, non-metallic materials, and Positive Material Identification (PMI).
- Resolve engineering issues applying established principles, codes, and standards.
Requirements
Educational & Technical Requirements:- Bachelor Degree in Engineering discipline
- 15 years of relevant experience in large or mega projects with a focus on welding engineering
- Thorough knowledge of engineering practices, economic principles, calculation methods, and design details
- Good understanding of industry and international standards and procedures
- Proficient in English, both written and verbal
