Project Scope of Work

Located approximately 20 km to the east of the Gulf line and about 12 km southwest of an existing major facility, the project's objective is to provide water supply from three sources: an existing facility, a new central processing facility, and a local aquifer, for water treatment and injection. The facility will process 1,400MBCD of water for injection to support production forecasts up to 2035 and maintain maximum sustainable capability in the field. The project will also expand water facilities to accommodate surplus production exceeding current system capacity through 2035.

Job Purpose

Lead, review, assess, and manage the scope of work for the allocated FEED/EPC package as directed by Senior Project Engineers and the Project Manager. Guide and manage FEED/EPC contractors in developing work scopes as defined in Work Entity Releases (WERs) relevant to the FEED phase.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Supervise structural engineering execution in detailed design, including calculations for heavy equipment foundations, buildings, and steel structures.
  • Analyze and design modular steel structures considering sea transportation, lifting, skidding, load out, and stress analysis.
  • Design structural steel and precast pipe racks.
  • Design technological structures and process plant structures.
  • Design blast resistant buildings.
  • Design compressor/table top foundations, pump foundations, and similar machine foundations.
  • Design equipment foundations for exchangers, coolers, process columns, steel stacks, horizontal vessels, and pipe supports.
  • Design specialist structures such as chimneys, natural draught cooling towers, pre-stressed bridges, and arch bridges.
  • Use international design codes of practice, such as American and British codes, and the International Building Code (IBC).
  • Plan and conduct independent work requiring judgement in the evaluation, selection, application, and adaptation of engineering techniques.
  • Review drawings, specifications, and calculations, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and accepted engineering standards.
  • Coordinate design efforts for material requisitions and compliance with project technical specifications.
  • Analyze disputed items from technical and contractual perspectives and prepare official responses.
  • Process and follow up on change order requests, prepare Justification Work Sheets, issue requests to contractors, and lead scope alignment processes.

Requirements

Educational & Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering discipline
  • 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas industry petrochemical projects
  • Specific experience in:
    • Steelwork design and connections
    • Piperack design
    • Building design
  • Good working knowledge of major industry standards and procedures, as well as international standards
  • Strong command of English, both written and verbal
