Job Title: Staff Engineer - FTL & MWA

About the Opportunity

An international energy operator is seeking an experienced Staff Engineer - FTL & MWA to support a major deepwater offshore development project. This role will provide engineering, project coordination, interface management, and offshore execution support across fluid transfer line and mid-water arch systems within a complex EPC/EPCIC project environment.

The successful candidate will work closely with multidisciplinary project teams, contractors, engineering specialists, and offshore stakeholders to support safe, efficient, and technically compliant project delivery across engineering, fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support engineering and project delivery activities related to fluid transfer line and mid-water arch systems
  • Coordinate with EPC/EPCIC contractors, engineering teams, fabrication yards, and offshore installation teams
  • Support project controls activities including schedule tracking, progress reporting, and cost control coordination
  • Assist with interface management across engineering, procurement, fabrication, commissioning, and offshore execution activities
  • Support contractor management activities including technical reviews, reporting, and coordination meetings
  • Participate in project risk assessments, HAZOP, HAZID, constructability reviews, JSA, PTW, and SSHE activities
  • Monitor contractor compliance with project safety, quality, and regulatory requirements
  • Support procurement and contracting activities including tender evaluations, technical reviews, and vendor coordination
  • Coordinate follow-on engineering support activities with external engineering specialists and third-party consultants
  • Review EPC engineering deliverables and support technical query resolution activities
  • Support offshore installation, pre-commissioning, and commissioning readiness activities
  • Assist with subsea systems, flexible risers, dynamic riser systems, flowlines, anchoring systems, and offshore integration activities
  • Coordinate with QA/QC, SSHE, fabrication yard, and commissioning representatives during project execution
  • Support stakeholder engagement activities with joint venture partners, contractors, and project leadership teams
  • Prepare project presentations, reports, and technical coordination updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
  • Minimum 10 years of experience within the oil and gas industry or similar offshore project environments
  • Experience supporting offshore EPC/EPCIC projects involving subsea systems, flowlines, risers, or offshore infrastructure
  • Strong understanding of deepwater flowline and flexible riser systems
  • Familiarity with offshore installation, transportation, commissioning, and fabrication yard activities
  • Experience supporting project controls, planning, scheduling, and contractor coordination activities
  • Knowledge of EPC contracting processes, technical documentation, and project reporting requirements
  • Familiarity with offshore safety processes including PTW, HAZOP, HAZID, risk assessments, and constructability reviews
  • Understanding of QA/QC processes, welding procedures, fabrication standards, and commissioning requirements
  • Working knowledge of Primavera, MS Project, or similar planning software
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and Outlook
  • Exposure to engineering software such as Orcaflex, FEA packages, or flow assurance tools is advantageous
  • Strong communication, coordination, and stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to work within multicultural and multidisciplinary project teams
  • Willingness and ability to travel internationally and support offshore execution activities as required
  • Offshore medical certification and BOSIET training are advantageous or willingness to obtain required certifications

Preferred Experience

  • Experience on deepwater offshore developments
  • Exposure to subsea umbilicals, controls systems, and offshore integration projects
  • Previous experience working with international operators, EPC contractors, or offshore installation contractors
  • Familiarity with Malaysian offshore project standards and practices
