Job Title: Manager, Interface

Working Location: KL Office, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities:

1. Key Objectives
- Accountable for end-to-end management of all cross-functional package interfaces, ensuring alignment and seamless coordination across FPSO Engineering, FPSO conversion, FTL/MWA installation, T&I activities, and existing subsea infrastructure. This role is critical to preventing schedule delays, scope gaps, operational readiness issues, and contractor claims.

2. Principal Accountabilities
- Interface Management: Own, manage, and lead all execution phase interfaces across all cross-packages ensuring alignment across engineering, fabrication, and offshore execution phases.
- Interface Risk and Schedule: Identify and manage interface-driven risks across FPSO/FTL/MWA, T&I, and subsea/DTU systems impacting cost and schedule, including ownership and mitigation of resolution to protect project milestones.
- Execution Alignment: Develop and maintain interface registers, ensure readiness plans, and ensure alignment milestones are synchronized for fabrication, installation, and commissioning readiness. Hold regular interface workshops between package managers and contractors. Enforce interface resolution across the delivery teams.
- Contractual Coordination: Work closely with engineering manager, delivery managers, incumbent FPSO owner, and contractors for timely resolution of interfaces and discrepancies before they escalate into conflicts, disputes, or claims. Identify scope gaps and overlaps and resolve discrepancies to avoid variations and claims.
- Technical Integration: Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure design consistency and readiness across multiple EPCs and OEMs.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Act as the focal point for interface communication between contractors, internal teams, and senior management.
- Reporting & Governance: Provide clear, structured reporting on interface status, risks, and mitigations to project leadership. Escalation and mitigation for critical interfaces linked to project milestones, schedule, and costs.
- Monitor and report status and overview on interface activities, progress, and issues. Take ownership of interface management tools and reporting.

3. Key Authorities
- Assigned by the FPSO Project Manager.
- Ensure contractor compliance with interface requirements.
- Escalate and enforce interface resolution across all packages.
- Recommend critical interface resolutions to the project manager.

4. Safety Responsibilities
- Responsible for the health, safety, and welfare of all individuals engaged in or related to any site project work. This includes company personnel, staff, contracted teams, visitors, and third parties.

5. Working Relationship
- Demonstrate strategic problem-solving and risk management abilities.
- Display strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Capable of managing high-pressure situations and competing priorities.
- Provide collaborative leadership across diverse technical and contractual teams.
- Work alongside contractors and package managers at all stages: engineering definition, fabrication and construction, subsea and operation teams.
- Challenge contractors and package managers to comply with interface requirements.

Requirements:

- Qualifications: B.Sc. in Engineering or relevant Degree/Diploma with recognized experience.
- Working Experience: Minimum 15 years' experience in the oil & gas industry or in a similar role in other industries, with relevant project management, services, or interface experience. At least 10 years of experience in an interface leadership role on major offshore projects in deepwater involving subsea, Floater (FPSO or similar), and offshore installation.
- Practical experience resolving high-impact interface conflicts, including specific leadership roles and responsibility for interfaces on complex offshore projects involving multiple large contracts between floaters, EPC, and T&I contractors.
- Relevant knowledge of floating production units, subsea production and control systems, and dynamic riser systems.
- Special Skills Required: Project management, project support, front end, planning, and cost control skills. Software skills should include working knowledge of Primavera and MS Project scheduling software. Experience with dedicated interface software.
