Job Title: Engineering Manager

Working Location: KL Office, Malaysia

Key Responsibilities:

1. Key Objectives
The Engineering Manager is accountable for end-to-end engineering delivery of the FPSO conversion and integration scope, and specialist support for all packages including FPSO, FTL/MWA and T&I to ensure all engineering output is fit for purpose, constructable, installable and aligned with the execution strategy. Provides technical leadership and oversight for all engineering activities related to the FPSO conversion and integration scope. This role ensures engineering deliverables are safe, compliant, and aligned with project execution requirements, supporting fabrication, installation, and commissioning phases of a large-scale deepwater project.

2. Principal Accountabilities
- Engineering Leadership: Accountable for engineering delivery performance, including alignment during fabrication, installation and commissioning. Lead and coordinate multi-discipline engineering teams (mechanical, marine, electrical, instrumentation, process) for FPSO conversion.
- Constructability and Instability: Ensures all engineering deliverables are constructible in the fabrication yard, installable offshore aligned with T&I and FTL/MWA methodologies.
- Design and Technical Assurance: Review and approve engineering deliverables, ensuring compliance with project specifications, class requirements, and international standards.
- Engineering Management: Direct management and ownership of contractor engineering activities and deliverable including resolution of technical conflicts impacting execution. Collaborate with subsea, mooring, FTL/MWA, and topsides teams to ensure seamless integration and avoid scope gaps.
- Risk & Safety Management: Identify engineering risks, enforce SSHE standards, and embed safety in design principles.
- Contractor Oversight: Monitor EPC contractor engineering performance, resolve technical issues, and ensure timely delivery of engineering packages. Lead engineering effort in supporting yard and integration phases, module assembly and system integration.
- Change Management: Evaluate and approve engineering changes, ensuring minimal impact on schedule and cost.
- Governance & Reporting: Provide structured updates on engineering progress, risks, and mitigations to project leadership.

3. Key Authorities
- Free to act within the authorities granted by the Project Manager, FPSO.
- Budgetary authorities will be within those limits specified by the Project Manager, FPSO.
- Ensuring that all project activities comply with all corporate, PETRONAS, and Government requirements and regulations.

4. Safety Responsibilities
- Shared responsibility for the health, safety and welfare of all persons at any Construction & Operations site, including staff, service personnel, contractors and visitors and for local environmental safety.
- Manage the activities and work program are supervised by the appropriate Supervisors & Superintendent.
- Ensuring that the construction and operations work activities are performed in accordance with the applicable Corporate Management System, Policies, Procedures, work instructions and regulatory requirements.
- Report all accidents, incidents, near misses and dangerous occurrences to the Production Manager. Ensure reports are legible, comprehensive and timely, and any additional information pertinent to the report is attached as per Management System Procedure.

5. Working Relationship
- Strong technical authority in FPSO, FTL/MWA and Installation engineering.

Requirements:

Qualifications and Experience
Mandatory:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Marine, or Offshore Engineering (advanced degree preferred).
- 20 years of experience in offshore Oil & Gas projects, with at least 10 years in FPSO (or similar floating production platforms) and deepwater FTL/dynamic riser system engineering leadership roles.
- Proven track record and leadership role in the engineering for FPSO conversion or newbuild and subsea riser/FTL projects through the execution phases yard, offshore and commissioning and start-up.
- Strong demonstrated knowledge of topsides process systems, hull/turret and module design & integration, marine systems, subsea / dynamic riser interfaces and integration and complex deepwater offshore execution.
- Demonstrated engineering performance from end-to-end execution to delivery and hand over to operations.
- Familiarity with class society rules (ABS, DNV, BV) and international standards (API, ISO).
