Why Does This Position Exist?
To provide discipline-specific design and drafting services, including technical support and supervision both within the Civil Structural discipline and to other disciplines.
Key Responsibilities

Technical Competency
- Adhere to accepted engineering and design practices, regulatory requirements, and customer specifications.
- Standardize equipment specifications, drawings, and document templates.
- Contribute to understanding of technical knowledge, legal requirements, and customer specifications.
- Utilize local/global standards to support technical excellence.
- Support peer reviews and incorporate comments and findings.
- Deliver discipline-specific design and drafting services that meet internal, client, statutory, and regulatory requirements.
- Apply recognized offshore/onshore engineering practices related to Civil Structural design.
- Check drawings/models and maintain quality of deliverables.
- Prepare and detail underground drawings.

Project Execution
- Understand project and discipline scope, cost, and time requirements and assist the team to meet expectations.
- Coordinate with other disciplines to ensure project success.
- Support management of project change and progress for the discipline.
- Initiate, design, and drafting assignments according to project requirements and within budget.
- Resolve discrepancies between internal and client requirements.
- Provide design deliverables for project estimating as needed.

Project Deliverables
- Gather data from multiple sources and prepare analyses and calculations.
- Assist with recommendations and support creation of final documentation.
- Define technical issues and recommend solutions for project documents.
- Ensure technical integrity through design review and checking activities.
- Create drawings and documentation, participate in project reviews, and comply with checking procedures.

Site Support
- Participate in constructability, operability, and maintainability reviews and incorporate requirements into design.
- Work with site personnel to resolve issues.
- Create plans or documents for construction, testing, commissioning, operations, maintenance, or decommissioning.
- Provide on-site support if required.

Requirements

Industry Experience
- Minimum of 12 years' experience in Green and Brown Field Oil & Gas related Civil/Structural projects.

Education and Qualifications
- Trade Apprenticeship, Certificate, Diploma, or Advanced Diploma in Engineering Technology (Civil or Structural discipline).

Job Specific Knowledge
- Experience with engineering codes and standards applicable to Oil & Gas/refinery or petrochemical projects.
- Preparation of drawings for concrete and steel structures using ACAD and Microstation.
- Preparation of reinforcement detail drawings for concrete structures and site grading drawings.
- Experience in interacting with other departments for drawing clarifications.
- Maintaining records of drawings and related documents.
- Estimation of concrete and structural steel quantities.
- 3D modeling of structures using E3D/S3D/Civil 3D; participation in 3D model review and clash checking using Navisworks.
- Development of Civil/Structural deliverables including drawings, sketches, diagrams, lists, 3D models, MTOs, schedules, and registers.

IT Skills
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Microstation, with 3D modeling capability and knowledge of Navisworks.
