Education & Experience Requirements
- Bachelors degree in chemical engineering or a relevant engineering discipline
- 7 years of related experience in the assigned field of process engineering
- Experience using major process engineering and process control standards and practices
Core Technical Skills & Industry Codes
- Knowledge in ethylene crackers
- Knowledge in advanced process control (APC)
- Knowledge of industry regulatory guides and codes
- Knowledge of process engineering methodologies and tools
- Knowledge of downtime analysis and problem-solving tools
- Project management
- Ability to use software programs for simulation, heat and material balances, and chemical engineering calculations
- IT proficiency with the ability to properly use management information systems
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality assurance, health and safety, and preventative/predictive maintenance systems and techniques
Key Responsibilities & Deliverables
- Provide process engineering support for assigned operations, including delivery of process engineering design for plant revamps to enhance long-term efficiency, productivity, and safety
- Conduct feasibility studies for debottlenecking plant process facilities and control systems; prepare economic comparisons of alternative schemes, preliminary cost estimates, and required engineering calculations
- Assist consultants, contractors, and internal personnel in scoping, defining, and planning projects
- Determine work methods from alternative existing methods in accordance with established specialized policies and professional standards
- Lead a team of contractors to fulfil unit objectives in line with HSE and quality standards
- Ensure updating of all process documentation (P&ID, PFD, material balances, process data sheets) for all modifications
- Prepare process data sheets and schemes to formulate capital expenditure and cost justification
