Role Objective / Success Criteria / KPI

  • Responsible for the electrical supervision, electrical QC and commissioning activities
  • Manage the overall commissioning planning within the agreed construction schedule
  • Oversee commissioning planning, time schedule, and quality control during electrical installation (LV, MV, HV and SCADA components)

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure on-time commissioning of the onshore substation ready for handover to operation
  • Establish and manage the onshore commissioning organisation across the electrical scope, including installation, quality, and commissioning of LV, MV, HV, protection, and SCADA equipment
  • Coordinate commissioning activities with main suppliers and sub-contractors
  • Secure the quality of commissioning works and documentation
  • Report installation and commissioning progress and participate in commissioning meetings
  • Ensure quality meets the agreed standard during construction
  • Ensure all commissioning is completed on time and to the required standard
  • Provide input to Design Critical to Quality (CTQ)
  • Ensure updating and transfer of CTQ control to Quality Activity Schedule (QAS) post contract signing

Tasks

  • Manage overall commissioning timeline, including key milestones
  • Supervise and control quality during the installation of electrical systems
  • Coordinate electrical installation & commissioning activities performed by suppliers, contractors, and stakeholders
  • Participate in FAT witnessing
  • Coordinate and witness SAT
  • Coordinate and execute SIT tests
  • Ensure commissioning activities comply with project HSE rules and local legislation
  • Report commissioning activities to project and site management
  • Coordinate commissioning with grid company, authorities, lead commissioning manager, and SAPs
  • Contribute to project evaluation and capture lessons learnt
  • Create and monitor execution of QAS and align input from supply quality management
  • Review ITPs from suppliers for product quality verification and validation
  • Manage product NCRs
  • Review product and as-built documentation during execution phase
  • Ensure maintenance is performed as per manual

Decision Authority / Responsibility

  • Request commissioning resources internally and externally; replace resources as required
  • Launch required project activities to facilitate commissioning progress within scope and budget
  • Propose mitigations and supplier follow-up actions to Substations Project Manager and Electrical Project Manager
  • Take site-specific/quality decisions in relation to suppliers

Requirements

  • Five years of relevant project experience required
  • Strong project management and coordination skills with a talent for driving solutions in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong personal drive and proactive mindset
  • Commissioning experience in MV/HV equipment, SCADA, low voltage, and utility installations/components
  • Experience with offshore substation work
