Procedures Lead

Location: Ras Laffan / Doha, Qatar (Onshore)

Contract Duration: 2 years (extendable)

Start Date: ASAP

Work Schedule: 8-10 hours per day, 5 days per week

Rotation:

  • Single status: 12 weeks on / 2 weeks off
  • Married status: Residential

Role Overview

Senior operational documentation leadership role responsible for ensuring all Operations and Maintenance procedures are accurate, controlled, and aligned with company assurance standards, industry best practices, and safety requirements across major oil and gas facilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revalidate and maintain Operations, Maintenance, Terminal, Offshore, Refinery, and Maintenance procedures and standing instructions
  • Ensure procedures are accurate, detailed, and reflect safe and efficient operational practices
  • Validate procedure assessment packages in line with competency assurance standards
  • Ensure documentation reflects "as-is" and "as-built" conditions across LNG plants, gas treatment facilities, and port operations
  • Review and update technical and safety documentation in line with operational changes and lessons learned
  • Identify improvement areas in operational procedures to support evolving business and operational risks
  • Ensure updates are reflected in all related technical documentation and competency assessment materials
  • Administer the procedure review process through document management systems
  • Coordinate with QLMS team to ensure standardisation of documentation formats and procedures
  • Liaise with Engineering documentation teams to ensure P&ID updates are accurately reflected in operational documents
  • Provide guidance and clarification to technical writing and operational teams
  • Set annual objectives for documentation development and procedural improvement activities
  • Provide expert input to resolve complex procedural and documentation issues

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline

Experience

  • Minimum 8 years' experience in Oil & Gas industry
  • At least 3 years' experience in technical documentation authoring
  • Strong experience in engineering change management and procedure governance

Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of operations and maintenance procedures in oil and gas environments
  • Experience with document management systems and controlled procedures
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Strong knowledge of MS SharePoint and document control platforms
  • Understanding of engineering change control and technical documentation lifecycle
