Project Context
A leading global energy operator is a shareholder in the IDKU LNG plant in Egypt, alongside other major industry players. The shareholders plan to execute a FEED study with an international contractor for the installation of an on-site regasification unit.
Following FEED, the project will transition into an EPC phase, with a planned roll-over to the same contractor in consortium with a local construction contractor.
A Project Management Team (PMT) has been established through Technical Service Agreements, primarily with one of the shareholders. Within this framework, contract management services will be provided during the FEED phase, with a strong contribution to the preparation and negotiation of the EPC contract.
The Contracts Engineer will report functionally to the Project Control Manager and will play a key role across both FEED execution and EPC preparation.

Mission & Objectives
The Contracts Engineer is responsible for contractual governance and administration of the FEED contract and for actively supporting the transition to EPC, ensuring that the operator's commercial, contractual, and risk positions are fully protected.
Key objectives include:
- Ensuring full compliance of the contractor with FEED contractual obligations
- Providing contract management support to the PMT during FEED execution
- Supporting the preparation, evaluation, and negotiation of the EPC contract roll-over

Key Responsibilities
FEED Contract Management
- Administer the FEED contract awarded to the contractor throughout execution
- Monitor contractor compliance with contractual, schedule, and deliverable obligations
- Review correspondence, notices, and contractual communications
- Manage variations, potential claims, and early warnings in coordination with Project Controls
- Maintain contract registers (variations, claims, deviations, risks)

Support to Project Team
- Advise the Project Control Manager and Project Manager on all contractual matters
- Participate in clarification meetings and contractual workshops
- Support technical teams during contractual and commercial clarifications
- Ensure adherence to internal procedures, governance rules, and approval processes

EPC Contract Preparation & Negotiation
- Contribute to the preparation of EPC contracting strategy and tender instructions
- Support analysis of EPC offer(s), including commercial and contractual risk exposure
- Participate in clarification rounds and contract alignment discussions
- Support negotiations of key EPC terms and conditions, including risk allocation, payment structure, liability, and interfaces
- Assist in preparing recommendations for contract award and internal approvals

Interfaces & Stakeholders
- Interface with PMT members from other shareholders
- Coordinate with legal, insurance, finance, and project controls functions
- Liaise with local stakeholders and contractors where relevant

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education
- Degree in Engineering, Business, Law, or Quantity Surveying

Experience
- Minimum 12-15 years' experience in contracts engineering or contract management
- Strong background in FEED and EPC contracts within oil & gas, LNG, or energy infrastructure projects
- Experience with international contractors and consortiums
- Prior exposure to roll-over or negotiated EPC contracts is a strong advantage

- Proven negotiation and contract administration skills
- Strong commercial acumen and risk awareness
- Ability to work within multi-company PMTs and complex shareholder structures
- Clear, structured communication skills
