Client: Global Energy Operator

Location: Paris / London / Cairo (candidate based in one of these offices)

Contract Type: Annually renewable contract

Assignment Type: Residential / Long-term project assignment

Project Overview

Contract management role supporting a FEED and EPC transition for a regasification project in Egypt, involving multiple international shareholders and contractors. The role sits within a Project Management Team (PMT) and supports both FEED execution and EPC preparation/negotiation activities.

Key Responsibilities

FEED Contract Management

  • Administer FEED contract execution with McDermott
  • Monitor contractor compliance with contractual obligations, deliverables, and schedule
  • Review contractual correspondence, notices, and formal communications
  • Manage variations, claims, early warnings, and deviations in coordination with Project Controls
  • Maintain and update contract registers (variations, claims, risks, deviations)

Project Support

  • Advise Project Manager and Project Control Manager on contractual matters
  • Participate in contractual discussions, workshops, and clarification meetings
  • Support technical and commercial teams in contract interpretation and alignment
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, procedures, and approval processes

EPC Preparation & Negotiation

  • Support EPC contracting strategy development and tender documentation
  • Assist in evaluation of EPC bids, including commercial and contractual risk assessment
  • Participate in clarification rounds with contractors and consortium partners
  • Support negotiation of key EPC terms (risk allocation, payment structures, liabilities, interfaces)
  • Contribute to internal approvals and contract award recommendations

Stakeholder Management

  • Interface with multi-shareholder PMT (including Shell and other partners)
  • Coordinate with legal, finance, insurance, and project controls teams
  • Liaise with international contractors and local stakeholders

Qualifications

  • Degree in Engineering, Law, Business, or Quantity Surveying

Experience

  • 12-15+ years in contract engineering or contract management roles
  • Strong experience in FEED and EPC contracts within oil & gas, LNG, or energy infrastructure
  • Experience with international contractors, consortium environments, and large-scale projects
  • Exposure to EPC roll-over or negotiated EPC contracts is highly advantageous

Technical & Professional Skills

  • Strong knowledge of FEED and EPC contracting frameworks
  • Excellent contract administration and negotiation capability
  • Strong commercial awareness and risk management understanding
  • Ability to operate in complex, multi-stakeholder project environments
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Structured, detail-oriented approach to contract governance and documentation
