Accountabilities

  • Guarantee the implementation of a quality policy ensuring the operability, maintainability, reliability, and safety of new production facilities.
  • Ensure integration of new equipment or facilities into the Al Shaheen Field.
  • Cover all production-related topics within projects, including process and flow assurance studies if any.

Job Dimensions

The Al Shaheen field development will involve several new projects executed in parallel over a 5-year period, with a total CAPEX investment around 3.5 Billion USD. The major projects consist of:

  • Phase 2.1/2/3: 9 new WHPs (in 3 batches of 3, 2, and 3 platforms) including bridges and tie-ins to existing platforms and 4 remote new WHPs.
  • Phase 3.1: 9 new WHPs and a Central Processing Complex (Central Production Platform, Riser Platform, and Flare Tower) bridge-linked to the existing B location.
  • Pipelines global network: Replacement of existing pipelines for integrity and debottlenecking.

The candidate will work transversely with project teams and field operations teams and must have enough experience and operational knowledge to make recommendations to projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • HSEQ Responsibilities:
    • Ensure HSE is given the highest priority.
    • Support and enforce the Project HSEQ management system (including charters, objectives, directives, plans, procedures, specifications).
    • Promote HSEQ awareness at all workforce levels through a proactive attitude (site tours, HSEQ meetings, incentive actions) within project teams and contractors.
    • Monitor work activities, especially areas where unsafe acts could occur, ensuring risks are properly identified and assessed before execution (Job Safety Analysis).
  • During Project Phases (FEED/Basic Engineering/EPCIC):
    • Support updates of Operating Philosophies, Manuals, and Procedures for the facilities delivered by Major Projects.
    • Participate in HAZOPs and risk assessments related to installation and construction activities.
    • Collaborate with project teams to anticipate production impacts or risks and implement mitigations to avoid downtimes.
    • Interface with the Commissioning Manager and Site Commissioning Teams to facilitate offshore execution.
    • Participate in HAZOP, HAZID, PRs, and JRAs as required.
    • Participate in operability/maintainability studies and 3D model reviews.
    • Support contractor development of main operating procedures for field operations, ensuring alignment with current practices and timely delivery.
    • Identify and develop training for field ops stakeholders for new facilities.
  • Represent project FOPS at FAT (Factory Acceptance Testing) of main/critical equipment.
  • Ensure the adequacy of project design basis with existing ALS Field bottlenecks or coherence with identified debottlenecking actions.
  • Lead/support site operations teams during installation and commissioning activities.
  • Contribute to the definition of the handover philosophy.
  • Prepare adequate feedback (REX, Return of Experience) at the end of each project.

Context and Environment

Major Projects involve the development of new offshore platforms bridge-linked to existing facilities, installation of subsea pipelines, and debottlenecking of surface facilities. These activities will take place across several international sites requiring complex interfaces with other entities. Multiple projects may be handled in parallel.

The position is at an EPCC site during the detailed engineering/construction phase, with offshore involvement during HUC and start-up if necessary.

Requirements

  • BSc in Engineering discipline (minimum education level).
  • Operations profile with field experience, and previous experience in production operations and project positions (> 8 years).
  • Knowledge of Al Shaheen Field preferred.
  • Familiar with production, process, and flow assurance engineering.
  • Familiarity with relevant company standards and codes is preferred.
  • Fluent English language skills.
  • Computer literate.
  • Strong communication and transverse skills.
  • Ability to work in a complex, multicultural environment.
  • Good analytical skills.
  • Available for frequent missions to vendor sites.
  • H2S OPITO and T-BOSIET training.
