Project Scope of Work

Located 20 km east of the Gulf line and approximately 12 km southwest of a major processing facility, this project supplies water from three sources: an existing facility, a new central processing facility, and an aquifer. The objective is water treatment and injection, processing 1,400MBCD to support production forecasts through 2035, maintaining field capability, and expanding water facilities for increased capacity through 2035.

Job Purpose

Responsible for reviewing vendor technical evaluations and deviation lists from company standards for rotating equipment such as compressors, pumps, and gas turbines.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review equipment datasheets and supporting documentation.
  • Participate in technical clarification meetings with vendors.
  • Design and implement cost-effective equipment modifications to improve safety, reliability, and throughput.
  • Develop project specifications with multidisciplinary colleagues.
  • Develop, test, and evaluate theoretical designs.
  • Discuss and solve complex problems with manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers, and customers.
  • Manage projects using engineering principles and techniques.
  • Plan and design new production processes.
  • Produce specifications and outline designs.
  • Recommend modifications following prototype test results.
  • Use research, analytical, conceptual, and planning skills, especially mathematical modeling and computer-aided design.
  • Consider implications of cost, safety, and time constraints.
  • Monitor and commission plant and systems.

Requirements

Educational & Technical Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering discipline
  • 10-15 years of experience in oil and gas or petrochemical projects
  • Good working knowledge of relevant internal and international standards and procedures
  • Proficiency in English, both written and verbal
  • Advanced computer skills with MS-Office
  • Excellent communication skills

With minimum 20 or more years of experience in:

  • Developing corrosion management programs
  • Developing corrosion monitoring systems and experience in on-stream inspections (OSI) and In-line inspections (ILI)
  • Risk-based inspection (RBI) based on API-580 methodology
  • Developing coating plans, solutions for coating failures, and cathodic protection plans
  • Coating systems applications and limitations
  • Developing corrosion controls, corrosion loops, and damage mechanisms
  • Performing corrosion risk assessments, using various inhibition chemicals and evaluating their performance
  • Evaluating and drawing conclusions from Corrosion Monitoring System data
  • Troubleshooting corrosion issues using root cause failure analysis (RCFA)
  • Developing and updating Corrosion Control Documents (CCDs) across project lifecycles
  • Reviewing inspection program reports and recommending corrosion monitoring methods
  • Developing and implementing corrosion control and mitigation strategies for in-plant assets and pipelines
  • Conducting corrosion surveys to identify high-risk areas and recommending corrective actions
  • Developing dashboards including Integrity Operating Window (IOWs) and KPIs
  • Managing changes related to metallurgy and corrosion management
  • Participating in technical bid evaluations and post-purchase manufacturer document reviews
  • Reviewing detailed design vendor packages for new and existing facilities regarding metallurgy and corrosion management
  • Familiarity and experience with various industry standards, practices, and procedures
  • NACE Specialist Certification, NACE Corrosion Technologist, API-571, NACE CP level II preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of API-571, API-579, API-580, API-570, and API-510
  • Active membership in professional societies such as IMechE, ASME, API, ISO, NACE, TWI is highly desirable
