Project Scope of Work

Located 20 km east of the Gulf line and approximately 12 km southwest of an existing facility, this project aims to supply water from three sources for treatment and injection purposes. The facility will process 1,400MBCD of water for injection to support production forecasts up to 2035 and maintain maximum sustainable capability. Additionally, it will expand water facilities to accommodate surplus produced water exceeding current system capacity.

Job Purpose

As an Electrical Systems Specialist, you will ensure contractor compliance across the following areas:

  • The defined Scope of Work
  • Internationally recognized applicable standards
  • Quality of the engineering design
  • Optimization of electrical project design to minimize operational and maintenance costs
  • Appropriate equipment manufacturing
  • Project engineering and purchasing schedules

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Review electrical system and equipment design packages, including drawings, datasheets, calculations, bill of materials/quantities, cost estimates, hazardous area classification, and system studies.
  • Prepare the Project Design Basis Document as per project requirements.
  • Develop comprehensive project load lists based on project scope.
  • Produce technical reports and specifications for electrical equipment outside of standard specifications.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction contractors during the FEED and design phases.
  • Coordinate with project managers to finalize electrical engineering scope for each project package.
  • Analyze and evaluate major equipment chosen for the project.
  • Address and respond to technical and site queries.
  • Support and participate in equipment Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT).
  • Demonstrated experience in project execution in accordance with major industrial standards.
  • Monitor and review contractor performance and work quality in coordination with project management teams.
  • Ensure that design work aligns with relevant standards, codes, regulations, and best practices.
  • Assist in evaluating Material Requisitions, Technical Bid Evaluations, and Award Recommendations; provide procurement support.
  • Review and assess Change Orders for compliance with standards and alignment with project budgets.
  • Collaborate closely with engineering teams to ensure facility integrity, especially regarding HSE.
  • Provide technical assurance for all electrical deliverables.
  • Prepare and approve electrical engineering packages before they are issued for construction.
  • Lead and recommend improvements for installations or modifications to enhance facilities and standards.

Requirements

Educational & Technical Requirements:
  • 10-15 years of experience in design, engineering, and construction (experience with similar major operators is preferable).
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related science degree with a focus in Electrical Engineering.
  • Professional certification as an engineer is desirable.
  • Familiarity with NEC, IEEE/ANSI, IEC, and other international electrical standards, best practices, and value practices.
  • Fully proficient with analogue and digital control systems, including Power System Automation (PSA), DCS, PLC, and SCADA controls.
  • Excellent command of the English language for in-depth analysis, professional presentations, and staying current with technical advancements.
  • Experience with Electrical Transient Analysis Program (ETAP) or similar software and all Microsoft Office applications.
