Project Scope of Work
The project is located approximately 20 km east of the Gulf line and about 12 km southwest of a major existing facility. The primary objective is to provide water supply from three sources: an existing facility, a new central processing facility, and an aquifer, for the purpose of treatment and water injection. The facility will process 1,400MBCD of water to maintain maximum sustainable capability for an existing field through 2035. The scope also includes expanding water facilities to accommodate surplus produced water exceeding the current formation water system capacity up to 2035.
Job Purpose
Provide engineering expertise in Process Instrumentation, Custody Measurement, and Process Control & Automation to support the Project Management Team on a major project. Must bring experience in EPC project execution and FEED stage, possess strong knowledge of engineering and construction (continuing through to construction phase), and have a background in project management.
Key Responsibilities and Duties
- Provide realistic and practical technical solutions to operational engineering challenges.
- Evaluate manufacturers for technical competence and compliance within area of expertise.
- Perform technical studies, prepare reports, and present feedback to technical and management personnel.
- Review engineering and design proposals for large projects.
- Develop and review engineering and design documentation, including procedures, standards, and specifications (FEED).
- Participate in HAZOP/SIL assignments and demonstrate knowledge of IEC 61511.
- Work collaboratively with design engineers, operation engineers, purchasers, and other internal stakeholders.
- Liaise with clients, suppliers, contractors, and relevant authorities.
Requirements
Educational & Technical Requirements:
- BSc in Electrical, Mechanical, Process, or Process Control Engineering.
- 10-15 years of experience in instrument and control engineering within the oil, gas, or petrochemical industry.
- In-depth knowledge of basic instrumentation and control: flow, level, pressure, temperature, and process analysis.
- Demonstrable experience in instrument selection for process applications.
- Expertise in boiler, process heater, and process furnace control aligned with project process requirements.
- Knowledge of materials and their selection for in-line instrumentation.
- Understanding of electrical systems for instrumentation (cabling, wiring methods, grounding, materials, control circuits) and hazardous area design implementation.
- Familiarity with national and international standards (ISA, ANSI, ASME, API, NFPA, IEC).
- Field experience required-must have worked on oil, gas, or petrochemical installations during construction, commissioning, start-up, or operations, including selection and installation of instruments and hazardous area installations.
- Experience and knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (DCS), Emergency Shutdown Systems (ESD), and Foundation Fieldbus implementation required.
- Experience with project vendors' process control systems and final acceptance testing (FAT).
- Computer literate; advanced skill in office and technical software.
- Strong English skills, both written and spoken.
