Senior Installation Supervisor
Location: Doha, Qatar (Offshore Projects)
Contract Type: Contract
Contract Duration: Initial 12-month contract, with the possibility of extension
Position Summary
We are seeking an experienced Senior Installation Supervisor to support the delivery of major offshore oil and gas projects in Qatar.
Working as part of the owner's project team, you will oversee offshore installation activities throughout the FEED, EPC, and offshore execution phases. The successful candidate will ensure installation works are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with approved engineering standards, project specifications, and construction schedules.
This position is suited to professionals with extensive offshore EPIC experience covering wellhead platforms, jackets, subsea pipelines, risers, J-tubes, umbilicals, and offshore construction activities.
Key Responsibilities
Offshore Installation Management
- Supervise offshore installation activities to ensure compliance with approved engineering drawings, specifications, project requirements, and international standards
- Review, comment on, and approve contractor construction engineering documentation
- Monitor contractor performance, workforce deployment, equipment utilisation, construction progress, and offshore installation activities
- Coordinate mobilisation and demobilisation of contractors, subcontractors, and vendors for offshore operations
- Ensure installation activities are delivered safely, on schedule, and within project requirements
Engineering & Construction Support
- Participate in engineering reviews during FEED and EPC phases
- Attend constructability reviews, SIMOPS workshops, schedule risk assessments, HAZOPs, lifting plan reviews, and 3D model reviews
- Review construction plans, installation procedures, method statements, offshore logistics plans, and project schedules
- Provide technical input to improve constructability and execution efficiency
Risk & Quality Management
- Act as the construction risk management representative, identifying installation risks and implementing mitigation measures
- Monitor compliance with project quality standards, safety requirements, and environmental procedures
- Identify construction bottlenecks and recommend practical solutions
- Ensure contractor compliance with approved inspection and testing requirements
Project Coordination
- Liaise with engineering, procurement, construction, production, maintenance, and project teams throughout all project phases
- Coordinate interfaces between contractors and multiple project stakeholders
- Support effective communication between offshore operations and onshore engineering teams
- Assist in resolving technical and construction-related issues during project execution
Reporting & Compliance
- Maintain daily construction progress records and site reports
- Monitor contractor compliance with permit-to-work requirements
- Report construction deviations, contractual issues, and progress updates to project management
- Support the development and continuous improvement of engineering standards, specifications, and construction guidelines
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering from a recognised university, or Diploma in Mechanical, Petroleum, or a related engineering discipline
- Minimum 12 years of experience supervising offshore installation activities within the oil and gas industry
- Proven experience delivering offshore EPIC projects involving:
- Wellhead platforms
- Jacket structures
- Subsea pipelines
- Risers
- J-Tubes
- Umbilicals
- Offshore construction and load-out operations
- Strong FEED and EPC project experience
- Experience reviewing and approving contractor engineering deliverables
- Strong understanding of offshore construction methods, installation engineering, quality management, and HSE requirements
- Ability to review construction schedules, method statements, inspection and test plans, and engineering drawings
- Excellent communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising multinational and multicultural contractor teams
- Computer literate with good reporting and documentation skills
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on major offshore oil and gas developments in the Middle East
- Previous experience working within owner's project teams
- Strong knowledge of offshore installation risk management and construction planning
- Familiarity with international engineering, safety, and quality standards
