Sr. Construction Supervisor (Electrical & Instrument)

Mesaieed, Qatar - Onshore

6 days per week, 10 hours per day

Contract Type

1 year contract role with the possibility of extension

Qualification

  • Higher National Diploma or Graduate degree in Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering from an internationally recognized university.
  • Courses in Safety, Quality Control, and Construction practices are advantageous.

Experience

  • 15+ years of construction experience in Electrical & Instrumentation for buildings and infrastructure within the oil & gas sector.
  • Strong knowledge and experience with:
    • HV/MV/LV network systems & related installations
    • Lighting & Earthing systems
    • Power system protections
    • AC/DC UPS systems
    • Cathodic protection systems
    • Process & Control systems
    • Fire & Gas systems
    • BMS, CCTV, PA-VA systems
    • ACS & HVAC control systems
    • FAT/SAT testing, Pre-Commissioning, and Commissioning works

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise and control the site construction and installation of all Electrical & Instrumentation works associated with Building Services and Infrastructure projects in operational areas.
  • Liaise and coordinate with discipline supervisors, project engineers, end users, asset holders, and relevant departments.
  • Assist in contractor mobilization and demobilization.
  • Review project planning and scheduling during construction, identify slippages, and assist in optimizing contractor resources.
  • Review construction method statements, pre-commissioning procedures, endorse red mark drawings and project dossiers.
  • Control and endorse work permits, ensuring that safety regulations, project safety plans, and national safety and environmental regulations are followed by contractors.
  • Inspect construction works and materials in accordance with project Quality plans and Inspection & Test plans.
  • Attend weekly progress meetings, update daily and weekly construction progress reports, and verify contractor's progress statements for accuracy.
  • Coordinate with end users to prepare and categorize punch lists, ensuring that all items are addressed by the contractor.
  • Assist during pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
  • Initiate Mechanical Completion Certificate and assist with operational and final handover of the building.
