SPS Engineering and Technical Lead

Location

Paris, France (with missions to Suriname and worldwide SPS contractor factories)

Contract Type & Duration

Annually renewable contract, minimum 1 year up to 4 years, with potential for extension for the duration of the project. Resident status.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead all engineering and technical activities for the SPS package on a major deep offshore oil project in Suriname.
  • Demonstrate exemplary behaviour regarding H3SE, ensuring compliance with all safety, health, and environmental requirements.
  • Promote and enforce company ethics, code of conduct, and anti-corruption policies.
  • Remain informed of SPS-related rules, specifications, international norms, and standards, extracting all applicable requirements for the project.
  • Identify and coordinate studies or surveys required for SPS engineering, construction, fabrication, testing, and installation activities.
  • Define, develop, issue, and maintain all necessary engineering and technical documentation related to the SPS package.
  • Support and participate in the development and maintenance of project management documents for SPS matters.
  • Ensure all engineering, fabrication, construction, testing, qualification, pre-commissioning, and commissioning aspects are addressed by reviewing and validating relevant SPS documentation from contractors.
  • Coordinate alignment with specialists and other entities on deviations from requirements for SPS equipment during engineering and execution phases.
  • Ensure HSE&Q issues are addressed in all SPS technical documentation, raising comments and highlighting deviations or unjustified design choices.
  • Supervise and control the fabrication and testing of all SPS equipment across multiple fabrication yards, ensuring QA/QC and H3SE policies are implemented and contractors meet contractual requirements.
  • Ensure readiness of all SPS equipment for onshore/offshore operations, interfacing with other project packages such as drilling, flowlines, risers, and field operations.
  • Participate in project reviews as required.
  • Provide timely reporting to the SPS Manager, consolidating reports, concerns, and issues.
  • Track variation requests and assist with assessment and decision-making for changes to the SPS scope.
  • Assist with relations with partners and concessionaires regarding SPS engineering and technical matters, including participation in workshops and committee meetings.
  • Ensure confidentiality of all SPS documentation produced.
  • Gather lessons learnt, provide feedback, and participate in project close-out activities and reporting.

Requirements

  • Qualifications: Extensive engineering and technical expertise in deep and shallow water SPS projects.
  • Languages: Proficiency in English and French.
  • Professional Experience: At least 20 years of relevant experience, with at least 10 years in project roles.
  • Experience: Significant SPS engineering and technical experience on large-scale projects is expected.
