Drilling & Completion Senior Supervisor

Working Location: Qatar offshore
Contract Type: Contract
Work Schedule: 4 weeks on/off rotational schedule (subject to change as required)

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise all drilling and completion operations, ensuring best working practices are applied for safety, asset protection, and operational efficiency.
  • Promote and ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) policies, procedures, and standards, including ISO14001.
  • Demonstrate full compliance with code of conduct regarding procurement and business integrity.
  • Review operations programs and supervise their implementation.
  • Control contractor and supervisor activities; personally supervise delicate or high-risk operations.
  • Optimize operations in cooperation with engineering, geology, reservoir, and drilling rig contractor teams.
  • Analyze operational data to anticipate potential problems and suggest alternative strategies.
  • Review and update equipment or tool operating procedures to ensure safe and efficient execution.
  • Ensure reliability of technical information, daily cost control, and final reporting of wells or operations.
  • Participate in technical and operational syntheses and cost follow-up.
  • Optimize service provider activities and assess their performance.
  • Contribute to skill and know-how improvement; mentor and train junior offshore staff.
  • Ensure effective collaboration between all involved entities during simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) on site.
  • Prepare and supervise rig move operations in cooperation with marine representatives and contractors.
  • Ensure proper well handover between drilling and production teams.
  • Maintain up-to-date records, including SIMOPS dossiers, Well Control Logbook, and permit-to-work approvals.
  • Compose written work instructions for contractors and service providers.
  • Lead daily operations conference calls and ensure accurate daily drilling reports.
  • Anticipate requirements and update daily lookahead for personnel, equipment, and materials.
  • Organize and lead weekly and monthly offshore HSE meetings.
  • Act as the person in charge offshore, on-call 24 hours/day, ensuring operational decisions and approvals are made as required.
  • Ensure suitability of personnel, equipment, and services to operational requirements, escalating issues to onshore management as needed.

Requirements

  • B.Sc. in Petroleum Engineering, Technical diploma, or equivalent industry practical experience.
  • Minimum 5 years of significant experience in drilling, completion, workover, and interventions.
  • Technical competencies in Drilling and Wells as per industry standards.
  • Certified DW CoC (T-BOP / CoC Assessment).
  • Strong managerial skills, open-mindedness, team player, cross-functional capabilities, proactive and creative approach, and ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Fluent in English.
