Senior Flow Assurance Engineer

Location: Leatherhead, UK (3 days per week in the office, 2 days remote)
Contract Type: Contract Position

Job Description

Working as part of an International Consulting Department offers you an opportunity to be part of a global, diverse, service-oriented organisation. You will work as part of small project teams developing concept and early project definition in the Oil and Gas sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical guidance and expertise during study execution.
  • Conduct Flow Assurance studies using software packages such as OLGA, PIPESIM, etc.
  • Develop pipeline simulation models, perform simulations of selected cases as defined by self or project, and assess simulation results.
  • Interface with client technical staff to develop and present outcomes and discuss technical issues; travel to client sites or offices may be required.
  • Perform design calculations and prepare technical reports in accordance with company and project quality requirements.
  • Guide and supervise junior engineers.
  • Lead, or be part of, project and study teams according to the work scope.
  • Contribute to flow assurance strategies, philosophies, and procedures.
  • Demonstrate excellent technical report writing and presentation skills.

Requirements

  • Experience in single and multiphase pipelines (steady state and transient hydraulic) analyses using industry standard software such as OLGA, PIPESIM, PIPENET, etc. is essential.
  • Minimum 6 years of hands-on experience in flow assurance modeling using OLGA transient simulation software.
  • Experience assessing flow assurance issues like slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion, etc. by use of simulation software and providing the best mitigation solutions.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multi-discipline project group with minimum supervision.
  • Experience in pipeline sizing and thermo-hydraulics studies, transient analysis covering shut down, blowdown, start-up, ramp-up/turndown scenarios.
  • Experience in pipeline overpressure protection studies including surge pressure analysis.
  • Knowledge of flow assurance issues including slugging, hydrates, wax, erosion, corrosion, etc. and mitigation methods.
  • Good understanding of thermodynamics and experience of Multiflash preferred.
  • Knowledge of applicable regulations, codes, and standards.
  • Experience in flow assurance conceptual and front-end studies and topsides process engineering activities including process modelling in HYSYS would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Operational experience would be a benefit but not essential.
