Job Purpose
The Site Manager will be responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities for large-scale EPC oil & gas projects in Qatar, ensuring work is completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in compliance with project specifications and company standards. The role will coordinate multidisciplinary construction teams, subcontractors, and client representatives throughout all phases of project execution.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and supervise all site construction activities across civil, mechanical, piping, structural, electrical, and instrumentation disciplines
- Ensure all activities are executed in compliance with HSE standards, project procedures, and local regulations
- Coordinate daily site operations with construction teams, subcontractors, engineering, procurement, and commissioning departments
- Monitor project progress against schedule and implement recovery plans where required
- Lead site meetings with clients, subcontractors, and internal stakeholders
- Review construction drawings, method statements, and work packs to ensure proper execution
- Ensure quality control procedures and inspection requirements are implemented effectively
- Identify and resolve technical and operational issues impacting site progress
- Manage manpower planning, equipment utilization, and material availability on site
- Ensure permit-to-work systems and risk assessments are fully implemented
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly construction progress reports
- Support commissioning and handover activities to operations and client teams
- Drive productivity improvements and ensure project milestones are achieved
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related technical discipline
- Minimum 10–15 years of experience in EPC oil & gas construction projects
- Previous experience working as Site Manager on large-scale refinery, petrochemical, LNG, offshore, or gas processing projects
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, international codes, and HSE regulations
- Experience working with major EPC contractors in the Middle East region preferred
- Strong leadership, coordination, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multicultural workforces and multiple subcontractors
- Proficient in construction reporting and project coordination tools
- Fluent in English; Arabic is advantageous
Preferred Experience
- Experience working on projects in Qatar or GCC region
- Familiarity with QatarEnergy standards and major operator requirements
- Previous experience with brownfield and greenfield EPC projects
