Role Objective / Success Criteria / KPI

  • Ensure SCADA commissioning activities are delivered safely, on time and to required technical and quality standards across onshore and offshore environments.
  • Support the successful energisation and handover of Substation Control Systems and Metering through strong engineering, site execution and stakeholder coordination.
  • Maintain commissioning momentum, manage risks proactively and uphold technical integrity throughout execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate SCADA commissioning activities across all relevant interfaces.
  • Collaborate closely with SCADA contractors, electrical commissioning teams and project stakeholders to align activities with the overall commissioning plan.
  • Supervise and manage commissioning personnel and activities, ensuring testing is executed correctly, documented properly and aligned with project requirements.
  • Maintain a clear and accurate overview of commissioning progress and provide structured reporting to Package and Commissioning Managers.
  • Highlight deviations, drive corrective actions and address delays, quality issues and execution barriers proactively.
  • Validate contractor deliverables, approve checklists and test documentation, and ensure full traceability across commissioning activities.
  • Drive the completion and closure of snagging activities to achieve a compliant handover.

Tasks

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of commissioning schedules and plans, defining scope, timelines and QA/QC requirements for SCADA commissioning.
  • Ensure required resources are available and escalate gaps or constraints where additional support is needed.
  • Commission Substation Control Systems and Metering; actively participate in FAT, SAT and SIT activities.
  • Ensure systems are tested, validated and integrated correctly with all supporting documentation complete and approved.
  • Ensure commissioning activities comply with project HSE standards, internal requirements and applicable local legislation.
  • Initiate actions to maintain progress and propose necessary changes to translate the commissioning strategy into effective site execution.
  • Work offshore during key commissioning phases and operate effectively within a high-pressure, multi-contractor environment.

Deliverables

  • SCADA commissioning activities completed safely, within programme and quality requirements.
  • Commissioning schedules and plans covering scope, timelines and QA/QC requirements.
  • Approved FAT, SAT and SIT test documentation and supporting records.
  • Validated contractor deliverables, approved checklists and full commissioning traceability.
  • Completed snagging and corrective-action closure supporting clean system handover.
  • Systems ready for energisation and handover in line with project expectations.

Project Documents

  • Overall commissioning plan and SCADA commissioning schedules.
  • FAT, SAT and SIT procedures, checklists and test records.
  • Contractor commissioning deliverables.
  • QA/QC and HSE compliance documentation.
  • Progress reports, deviation records and corrective-action tracking.
  • Snagging records and handover documentation.

Decision Authority / Responsibility

  • Initiate actions to maintain commissioning progress and remove site execution barriers.
  • Propose changes and corrective actions where needed to protect schedule, quality, and technical integrity.
  • Escalate resource gaps or constraints and request additional support to maintain delivery commitments.
  • Approve commissioning checklists and test documentation within the assigned scope.

Requirements

  • Education: B.Sc. level technical background or equivalent, evidenced by proven experience in project execution or commissioning environments.
  • Technical Experience: Strong background in SCADA commissioning, Substation Control Systems, and Metering.
  • Project Management: Relevant experience; IPMA or PMP certification preferred.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead in a site-based environment, manage multiple stakeholders and drive structured execution under pressure.
  • Ownership: Strong planning discipline and decision-making capability in high-pressure, multi-contractor environments.
  • Offshore Readiness: Willing and able to work offshore for extended periods during commissioning phases.
  • Safety: Hold necessary GWO and offshore safety certifications and be physically prepared to operate in offshore conditions.
  • PPE: Must provide own PPE suitable for offshore work.
