Role Objective / Success Criteria / KPI
- Ensure the safe, timely and high-quality delivery of OT communication infrastructure across onshore and offshore project sites.
- Act as the site representative for OT Infrastructure Engineering, ensuring installations are completed, tested and documented in accordance with approved designs, project specifications and quality standards.
- Drive physical infrastructure delivery, construction oversight, mechanical completion and commissioning readiness through to successful handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise installation activities and verify construction quality across fibre-optic, Ethernet and coaxial communication cabling systems.
- Oversee communication panels, racks, patch panels, fibre management systems, Optical Distribution Frames (ODFs) and splice enclosures.
- Inspect cable trays, conduits and routing infrastructure, together with LV power supplies for communication equipment.
- Verify grounding, bonding and environmental requirements, including cabinet ventilation, cooling and heat dissipation solutions.
- Work closely with contractors, suppliers, commissioning teams and project stakeholders to ensure infrastructure is delivered according to project requirements.
- Drive mechanical completion activities, validate installation documentation, manage punch-list items and ensure successful handover to commissioning teams.
- Maintain a clear overview of construction progress, identify risks and quality concerns, and proactively drive corrective actions.
Tasks
- Inspect fibre-optic cable installation, termination and testing, including fibre end-face condition and cleanliness verification.
- Review OTDR test results and optical power meter/light source testing to confirm installation quality and acceptance.
- Verify fibre cleaning procedures, cleaning tools, acceptance testing and certification of fibre installations.
- Inspect Ethernet and copper communication cabling, coaxial systems and associated patching infrastructure.
- Challenge contractors on quality, workmanship and compliance, and drive the completion of corrective actions.
- Support commissioning and integration activities using a fundamental understanding of industrial Ethernet networks, managed switches, network topologies, redundancy concepts and basic network device functionality.
- Participate in onshore and offshore construction, mechanical completion and commissioning activities as required.

Requirements
- Practical experience in OT communication infrastructure delivery, construction oversight, mechanical completion and commissioning readiness.
- Hands-on knowledge of fibre-optic inspection, testing and quality assurance, including OTDR testing and interpretation of results.
- Experience with optical power meter/light source testing, fibre end-face inspection, cleanliness verification and fibre cleaning procedures.
- Experience with fibre splicing, fusion splicing equipment, splice tray installation and fibre repair activities is a significant advantage.
- Fundamental understanding of industrial Ethernet networks, managed switches, network topologies, redundancy concepts and basic network device functionality.
- Strong site execution skills, attention to detail and the ability to challenge contractors on quality, workmanship and compliance.
- Experience from offshore wind, telecommunications, industrial facilities, utilities, substations or other large-scale infrastructure projects is highly desirable.
- Willing and able to work offshore during construction, mechanical completion and commissioning phases, with the required offshore safety certifications.
