Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Field Operations Lead during the onshore phase with review of operational documents, comparison of 3D modelling with actual construction, and support for equipment FATs/SATs as required.
• Review OTP documents and liaise with OEMs for installation and commissioning of major rotating equipment items such as gas turbines, compressors, pumps, emergency generators, and lift pumps.
• Identify and raise punches for anomalies, deviations, accessibility, and operability issues during daily work.
• Supervise and oversee commissioning execution, including loop tests, function tests, and performance tests.
• Prepare start-up procedures and support operational readiness.
• Assist the production team during commissioning activities offshore and ensure proper preparation of start-up procedures leading to first oil.
• Ensure the core crew is aware of procedures for new installations and start-up sequences.
• Act as a discipline advisor to ensure proper preparation for start-up and review punch close-outs.
• Contribute to safety initiatives by reporting anomalies and ensuring competence of technicians during installation work.
• Participate in HAZID, HAZOP, 3D model reviews, and risk assessments throughout construction, commissioning, and start-up phases.
• Monitor construction compliance with 3D models and oversee contractor installation works to required standards.
• Witness operational tests and liaise with the field operation team.
• Identify procedures and precautions for safe and efficient installation, commissioning, and start-up activities.
• Finalize on-site start-up procedures and collaborate with the field operation crew on start-up sequences.
• Participate in kick-off meetings and risk assessments for start-up activities.
• Prepare requests and orders for required start-up tools and ensure their proper storage and identification.
• Prepare for vendor arrival on site and ensure all necessary permits and safety assessments are in place.
• Check and investigate punch lists as required and ensure proper implementation of inhibits, overrides, and isolations with associated certificates and risk assessments.
• Stay aware of potential downgraded situations on site and update the crew accordingly.
• Participate in safety reviews and ensure up-to-date P&ID documentation is available for the field operation team.
• Ensure preventive maintenance works are conducted in line with requirements and follow up on corrective actions after shutdowns.
• Ensure operators understand new safety systems and process upgrades.
• Assist with isolation/de-isolation procedures and suggest improvements to operating procedures as needed.
• Daily work planning with commissioning leads and keep site leadership updated on ongoing tasks.
• Support familiarization and operation of new facilities and assure readiness for start-up of all sub-systems and plant for first oil.

Requirements

• Higher national diploma or certificate (equivalent to A-levels + 2 years' study).
• Minimum 10 years' experience with rotating equipment (mechanical and controls) in offshore operations.
• Ability to work independently and maintain good working relationships.
• Familiarity with installation, operation, and maintenance of gas turbines and large rotating equipment.
• Understanding of control systems for gas turbine and compressor controls.
• Detailed knowledge of ATEX certification requirements.
• Proven operational responsibility and willingness to intervene and challenge when necessary.
• Previous experience in offshore operations, production, and oil & gas.
• Willingness to work flexible and extended shifts as required.
• Fluent in written and spoken English.
• Computer literate.
• Basic firefighting certification.
• T-BOSIET and H2S training (OPITO approved).
• Permit to Work (PTW) training and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) awareness.
• Lifting, rigging, and manual handling training.
• Radiation protection awareness.
• Hazard and energy control, lockout & tagout awareness.

Work Schedule

Full-time onshore work during engineering and construction phases in yards.
Offshore rotation (28 days on/28 days off) during hook-up, commissioning, and start-up phases.
Travel between sites required.
Position will transition to offshore operations upon project completion.
