QA/QC Inspector

Key Responsibilities
- Follow up, monitor, coordinate, and supervise QA/QC activities performed by contractors and subcontractors during manufacturing, fabrication, assembly, testing, FAT, EFAT, SIT, preservation, logistics preparation, readiness for load-out, and load-out activities.
- Act as the QA/QC Inspector at fabrication yards, manufacturers, supplier facilities, and logistics bases, ensuring compliance with contract requirements, specifications, approved procedures, international standards, and industry good practice.
- Pay particular attention to pipeline end terminations, in-line tees, flowline components, subsea structures, welding, NDT, coating, material traceability, manufacturing record books, non-conformance management, and load-out readiness.
- Promote ethics, the Code of Conduct, and H3SEQ requirements.
- Verify implementation of contractor Quality Plans, Inspection and Test Plans, and Quality Management Systems.
- Participate in kick-off meetings, pre-inspection meetings, and quality-coordination meetings.
- Perform routine and random inspections at fabrication yards and supplier facilities.
- Monitor fabrication of SURF equipment, including pipeline end terminations, in-line tees, risers, flowline components, and subsea structures.
- Witness inspection and test activities and verify hold points.
- Review material certificates, heat-number traceability, and material-preservation arrangements.
- Verify Welding Procedure Specifications, Procedure Qualification Records, Welder Performance Qualifications, and the qualifications of welding personnel.
- Witness radiographic, ultrasonic, phased-array ultrasonic, Time of Flight Diffraction, magnetic-particle, dye-penetrant, and visual testing when required.
- Monitor coating and preservation activities.
- Participate in Factory Acceptance Tests, Extended Factory Acceptance Tests, and System Integration Tests, and verify closure of punch-list items.
- Participate in readiness-for-load-out reviews and verify readiness for shipment.
- Monitor non-conformance reports, concessions, deviations, and implementation of corrective and preventive actions.
- Participate in root-cause analysis investigations.
- Review manufacturing record books, Quality Dossiers, and Certification Packages.
- Interface with third-party inspection agencies and certification bodies.
- Monitor logistics and load-out preparation from a quality perspective.
- Prepare surveillance reports and highlight quality risks to the SURF QA/QC Lead.
Requirements
- At least 15 years of oil and gas experience, including extensive experience in SURF and EPCI fabrication projects.
- Strong background in welding, NDT, coating, material traceability, and vendor surveillance.
- Experience with pipeline end terminations, in-line tees, risers, flowlines, and subsea structures.
- Demonstrated experience managing non-conformances, root-cause analysis, corrective and preventive actions, manufacturing record books, and Quality Dossiers.
- Knowledge of relevant specifications is highly desirable.
- CSWIP 3.1 or 3.2, NDT, and coating certifications are preferred.
- Preferred certifications include CSWIP, NACE or AMPP, ISO 9001 Auditor, and NDT qualifications.
- Mandatory training must be completed in accordance with requirements.
- Role requires frequent missions to fabrication yards and supplier facilities worldwide.
Project Context
This role supports a major offshore development project focused on optimising reserves, schedule, and cost, reducing greenhouse-gas emissions, and maintaining high technical-quality and H3SE standards. The project is expected to develop approximately 700 million barrels of resources, with FPSO production planned to begin in 2028.
