Planning Lead (Construction)

Working Location: Qatar Onshore - Raslaffan
Contract Type: 36 months contract
Work Schedule: Normal Onshore Office Work

Key Responsibilities

  • Promote and uphold safety, health, environmental and worker welfare standards across all construction execution activities, embedding a strong safety culture and ensuring visible demonstration of safety leadership.
  • Lead schedule guidance and development oversight of the execution activities of the EPC contractor and its subcontractors, ensuring alignment with project plans, interfaces, and reporting requirements of the Construction Division Manager.
  • Formulate and ensure a strong understanding of the project's objectives and strategies, key milestones and deliverables, and ability to identify schedule vulnerabilities and mitigations.
  • Analyse and approve EPC schedules, sequencing, logic, resource leveling, coding structure, methodologies, work packs, and weekly progress reports.
  • Participate and advise, as required, in the workshops which are related to the construction performance reviews.
  • Evaluate and improve progress reports, including the accuracy and effectiveness of construction progress measurement and reporting.
  • Monitor manpower deployment and productivity metrics to ensure alignment with construction schedules and execution requirements.
  • Uphold effective communication with contractors and project teams to support construction execution and coordination.
  • Interface with Engineering and Procurement to understand and coordinate on-time deliverables, including long-lead items.
  • Recommend project control guidance on cost estimating, change order requests, schedule extension claims, and other contract related matters.

Requirements

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Sciences or Engineering.
  • Experience: 8 years' experience with large projects in construction-related disciplines (e.g., construction, installation, fabrication, execution, completion, hook-up, etc.) in the Oil & Gas Industry, including 1 year of experience in a supervisory role, including acting roles, or oversight of service/vendor personnel.
  • Technical and Business Skills:
    • Proficient in Word, Excel, Adobe, PowerPoint and Outlook.
    • Good organizational, planning, communication, and execution skills.
    • Well-developed coordination and planning skills.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with internal and external organizations.
    • P6 scheduling capabilities.
