Position Summary
An experienced Paint & Insulation Superintendent is required to support a major Oil & Gas construction project at a fabrication yard in Indonesia. The successful candidate will oversee all painting, coating, insulation, passive fire protection (PFP), and preservation activities, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
This role requires strong leadership experience, working closely with contractors, quality teams, construction management, and project stakeholders to deliver fabrication activities on schedule.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise all painting, coating, insulation, PFP, and preservation activities during fabrication.
- Ensure work is carried out in accordance with project specifications, approved procedures, and industry standards.
- Lead contractor teams and monitor productivity, quality, and schedule performance.
- Coordinate daily activities with construction, QA/QC, engineering, planning, and HSE teams.
- Verify surface preparation, coating application, insulation installation, and inspection activities meet project requirements.
- Monitor contractor compliance with project quality and HSE requirements.
- Participate in inspections, walkdowns, punch list management, and completion activities.
- Review work packs, inspection reports, method statements, and technical documentation.
- Identify construction issues and implement practical solutions to minimise delays.
- Support project progress reporting and provide updates on work status and key milestones.
- Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all work is performed in compliance with company and project HSE policies.
Requirements
- Minimum 10 years of experience in painting, coating, insulation, or preservation within the Oil & Gas industry.
- Previous experience at Lead or Superintendent level on major Oil & Gas construction projects.
- Proven experience supervising fabrication yard activities.
- Strong knowledge of industrial coatings, insulation systems, passive fire protection (PFP), and corrosion protection.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary construction teams and contractors.
- Good understanding of relevant international standards for painting and insulation.
- Ability to review technical documentation, inspection records, and construction procedures.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Fluent English communication skills, both written and spoken.
Preferred
- Experience on large EPC/EPCIC Oil & Gas projects.
- Previous experience working in Southeast Asia or international fabrication yards.
- Relevant coating or painting inspection certification (such as NACE, AMPP, BGAS, or equivalent) would be advantageous.
- Familiarity with project completion, QA/QC, and turnover processes.
