Location: Indonesia (Construction Site)
Contract Duration: September 2026 – July 2028
Work Schedule: 9 weeks on / 3 weeks off, 60 hours per week

Overview

An excellent opportunity is available for an experienced Lead Mechanical & Static/Rotating Equipment Inspector to support a major industrial construction project in Indonesia. The successful candidate will lead site inspection activities for static and rotating equipment, ensuring all installation, inspection, and testing activities comply with project specifications, quality requirements, and international standards.

This role requires extensive site-based inspection experience, particularly with static equipment, rotating equipment, and storage tanks. Experience gained solely in fabrication shops, shipyards, or module yards will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead inspection activities for static and rotating equipment during construction and installation phases
  • Ensure all inspection activities comply with approved project specifications, quality plans, inspection and test plans (ITPs), and applicable international standards
  • Supervise inspection teams and coordinate inspection activities across multiple construction disciplines
  • Inspect installation, alignment, assembly, testing, and commissioning readiness of static and rotating equipment
  • Perform site inspections of storage tanks, pressure vessels, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, turbines, and associated mechanical equipment
  • Review inspection reports, quality documentation, material certificates, and test records
  • Coordinate with construction, engineering, QA/QC, vendors, and client representatives to resolve technical and quality issues
  • Identify non-conformances and monitor corrective actions through to close-out
  • Support project quality management and ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental requirements
  • Prepare inspection reports and provide technical guidance throughout project execution

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years of experience in mechanical inspection within industrial construction projects
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Lead Mechanical Inspector or equivalent supervisory inspection role
  • Proven site-based inspection experience for static and rotating equipment
  • Proven site-based storage tank inspection experience
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment inspection, installation, testing, and quality assurance
  • Experience working on large industrial, energy, or oil and gas construction projects
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and coordination skills
  • Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary construction teams

Mandatory Certifications

  • Valid CSWIP 3.1 certification or an internationally recognised equivalent
  • Valid API 653 Tank Inspection certification

Preferred Experience

  • Experience inspecting Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSG)
  • Site-based experience with turbine generators and enhanced gas recovery equipment
  • Experience working on major EPC construction projects
  • IEC certification
  • CompEx 11 certification

Additional Information

  • Long-term construction site assignment in Indonesia from September 2026 to July 2028
  • Rotation: 9 weeks on / 3 weeks off
  • 60-hour working week
  • Only site-based inspection experience will be considered. Experience gained in fabrication shops, shipyards, or module yards does not meet the requirements for this role.
  • Suitable for senior inspection professionals with extensive experience in mechanical, static, and rotating equipment quality inspection on major industrial construction projects.
