Position Overview
An experienced Jetty Supervisor is required to support offshore logistics and marine operations associated with current and future offshore development, production activities, and ongoing exploration and appraisal campaigns in Suriname.
The Jetty Supervisor serves as the focal point for all quay, jetty, and wharf operations at the logistics base, ensuring the safe, efficient, and compliant management of vessel movements, cargo handling, marine logistics activities, and contractor coordination. The position plays a critical role in supporting an extensive offshore campaign involving drillships, platform supply vessels (PSVs), anchor handling tug supply vessels (AHTS), installation vessels, and multiple logistics contractors.
Key Responsibilities
Quay, Jetty and Wharf Operations
- Manage all quay, jetty, and wharf operations supporting development and production phases, as well as exploration and appraisal activities.
- Act as the primary focal point for all vessel and quay-side movements.
- Coordinate berthing, loading, unloading, bunkering, and backloading activities.
- Ensure safe and efficient execution of marine logistics operations.
- Maintain vessel schedules and berth utilization plans in coordination with logistics and marine stakeholders.
- Monitor vessel readiness and ensure operational efficiency throughout port calls.
Marine Logistics Coordination
- Support the offshore development program involving:
- Two drillships
- Up to six Platform Supply Vessels (PSVs)
- One Anchor Handling Tug Supply Vessel (AHTS)
- Two installation vessels
- Coordinate activities between marine operations, logistics teams, and third-party contractors.
- Liaise with vessel Masters to optimize cargo operations and vessel turnaround times.
- Coordinate simultaneous operations (SIMOPS) at the quay and vessel interface.
- Ensure availability of lifting equipment, cargo handling resources, riggers, banksmen, stevedores, and support personnel.
Contractor and Stakeholder Management
- Coordinate activities with:
- Logistics base operators
- SPS package contractors
- Tubular yard operators
- Well services providers
- Warehouse teams
- Shipping and planning teams
- Security departments
- Facilitate communication between all parties involved in marine and logistics activities.
- Lead coordination meetings and support continuous operational improvements.
Health, Safety, Security and Environment (HSSE)
- Demonstrate visible leadership and commitment to company HSE policies and standards.
- Ensure full compliance with applicable legislation, company procedures, and site rules.
- Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and operational greenlight meetings.
- Verify compliance with lifting and material handling standards.
- Monitor storage, transportation, and disposal of hazardous materials and waste.
- Promote safe working practices and intervene immediately when unsafe conditions are identified.
- Exercise stop-work authority when operations present unacceptable HSE risks.
- Participate in Permit to Work (PTW) activities and act as Performing Authority when required.
- Support emergency preparedness activities including:
- Oil spill response drills
- Man Overboard (MOB) drills
- Bunkering operation response exercises
- Promote waste reduction and environmental stewardship in accordance with the "5R" principles:

Cargo and Material Management
- Verify all vessel loadout and shipping documentation including:
- Cargo manifests
- Kabal records
- MSDS documentation
- Dangerous Goods Declarations
- Delivery notes
- Certificates of Conformance
- Ensure compliance with:
- IMDG Code
- IMO requirements
- Company shipping standards
- Confirm proper sea fastening, packaging, and cargo securing methods.
- Maintain accurate records of all inbound and outbound material movements.
- Ensure correct transfer of materials to warehouse teams and designated end users.
Personnel Leadership and Competency Management
- Liaise regularly with the Authorized Person for Lifting Operations (APLO).
- Assess competency, training needs, and experience levels of quay and jetty personnel.
- Ensure adequate staffing and deployment of qualified personnel.
- Mentor and support operational personnel to maintain high safety and performance standards.
- Lead pre-loadout meetings and post-operation reviews to identify lessons learned and continuous improvement opportunities.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent qualification in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Marine Operations, Engineering, or a related discipline.
Experience
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas industry.
- Demonstrated experience in:
- Quay, jetty, or wharf operations
- Marine logistics coordination
- Offshore supply base operations
- Cargo handling and lifting activities
- Experience supporting offshore drilling, development, or production projects is highly desirable.
