About the Opportunity
A major offshore energy operator is seeking an experienced Offshore Installation Supervisor to support the execution of offshore EPIC projects involving platforms, jackets, subsea systems, pipelines and offshore installation campaigns.
This role will oversee offshore construction and installation activities, ensuring all work is executed safely, efficiently and in compliance with approved engineering standards, project specifications and offshore operational procedures.
The successful candidate will play a key role across offshore installation campaigns, contractor coordination, engineering reviews and offshore construction management activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise offshore installation activities for topsides, jackets, subsea systems, pipelines, umbilicals, risers, J-tubes and associated offshore facilities
- Oversee heavy lift operations and non-routine offshore installation activities
- Ensure offshore installation work is executed in accordance with approved scope, engineering drawings, specifications and safety requirements
- Review and approve contractor method statements, installation procedures, schedules and offshore logistics plans
- Support tendering, bidding and contractor technical evaluation activities
- Participate in constructability reviews, SIMOPS, HAZOP, HAZDEM, lifting studies, 3D model reviews and schedule risk analysis workshops
- Participate in offshore pipeline, subsea and installation campaigns during project execution phases
- Monitor contractor performance, offshore manpower deployment and construction progress
- Identify construction risks, develop mitigation measures and support implementation of corrective actions
- Coordinate with engineering, procurement and operations teams throughout project execution
- Monitor offshore work permits and ensure contractor compliance with permit conditions and HSE procedures
- Support contractor mobilization and demobilization activities for offshore operations
- Maintain daily progress reporting and highlight construction deviations or operational issues
- Interface with production, maintenance and project teams to resolve offshore construction-related matters
Requirements
- Higher National Certificate, Higher National Diploma or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- Minimum 8 to 10 years of offshore installation and construction supervision experience within oil and gas projects
- Strong experience supporting EPIC projects involving offshore platforms, jackets, pipelines, cable lay and subsea installations
- Experience reviewing and approving contractor deliverables, construction procedures and method statements
- Strong understanding of FEED and EPIC project execution
- Good knowledge of offshore installation engineering standards, quality control and HSE requirements
- Experience supervising multinational and multicultural contractor workforces
- Strong ability to review construction drawings, inspection test plans and offshore schedules
- Ability to identify project risks, construction bottlenecks and propose effective solutions
- Good communication, reporting and coordination skills
- Computer literate with experience using standard project and reporting systems
- Strong written and spoken English communication skills
