JOB TITLE
Ex Tech (Ex Specialist/Inspector) - Ruya Batch 1 MP FOPS

Working Location
Ulsan, South Korea (Residential)
Onshore work during construction in yards in China, Qingdao may also be required. Offshore rotation during HUC phase; potential travel between sites. Offshore phase involves rotation 28 days/28 days offshore.

Key Responsibilities

Accountabilities
During the onshore commissioning phase on yard, the Ex Tech will assist the Field Operations Lead for:
- Updating and confirming EX Registered.
- Following all Pre-Comm activities on EX equipment.
- Reviewing and executing Electrical-related Operational Test Procedures (OTPs).
- Executing Electrical-related commissioning such as loop tests and function tests.
- Preparing black start procedures and overseeing operation of various electrical equipment.

Additional Accountabilities during Offshore Phase
- Follow commissioning activities as Field Operation representative on Electrical matters.
- Collaborate closely with Operating Authority on site (OTL) and Commissioning Site Leader (CSL).
- Assist production team during commissioning activities on Electrical scopes.
- Assist production team to ensure safe first power up.
- Ensure good preparation of electrical related start-up procedures leading to the first oil.
- Act as advisor to project team for proper preparation of first power-up.

Job Dimensions
- Responsible for supporting the Ruya Batch 1 project.

Activities
- Identify, with EX Supervisor, procedures and precautions for safe start-up activities.
- Finalise detailed power-up sequence in collaboration with Start-Up Supervisor and core field operation crew on site.
- Participate and assist in kick-off meetings and risk assessments for power-up activities.
- Liaise with Field Operations lead to coordinate power-up progress.
- Update Start-up monitoring tools in conjunction with Field Operations lead.
- Participate in Permit To Work meetings related to power-up and Electrical-related commissioning.
- Witness Electrical Operational Tests performed by commissioning; liaise with field operation team.
- Assist Start-Up Supervisors to prepare required power-up tools; ensure proper storage and identification.
- Check EX and Electrical B and C punch list; investigate as requested by Field Operations lead, OTL or OIM.
- Advise Start-Up Supervisor regarding inhibitions and isolations with proper certificates and risk assessments.
- Participate in Hazid, JSA, and Pre-Startup Safety Reviews of new facilities for Electrical matters.
- Contribute to Incident Free initiative by reporting anomalies, defects, bad practices, or competence gaps.
- Review and follow up implementation of corrective actions following shutdown during start-up; communicate with vendor.
- Make available key documents regarding new facilities to field operations team.
- Ensure all operators are informed on new safety systems and process upgrades.
- Maintain local signage and barriers, focusing on SimOps boundaries, exit walkways, and scaffolds.
- Assist teams with procedures for electrical isolations and de-isolations.
- Suggest improvements and request modifications to Operating Procedures if not satisfactory.

All staff are required to participate in crisis response training and assist during emergency response situations if required.

Requirements

Education and Experience
- Higher national diploma or certificate (equivalent to A-levels plus 2 years' study).
- Minimum 5 years' experience in oil & gas production operations.

Technical, Personal, and/or Linguistic Competencies
- Ability to work independently and maintain relationships with colleagues.
- Proven sense of operational responsibility for EX equipment; willingness to intervene and challenge as necessary.
- Qualified EX inspector (Compex certified).
- Previous experience with offshore operations, Electrical scopes, and EX inspections.
- Willingness to work flexible and extended shifts as required.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Computer literate.

Professional or HSE Certifications
- Basic firefighting.
- T-BOSIET, H2S training OPITO approved.
- NOC PTW training & JSA awareness.
- Hazard and Energy Control Logout/Tagout awareness.
