A leading multinational materials technology company is currently recruiting for a Corporate Paralegal to be based in Brussels, Belgium.
Department Description and Responsibilities
The company is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to temporarily strengthen the Legal team in Hanau due to an upcoming retirement. The Paralegal will support both corporate legal activities and commercial contract processes, with a strong focus on NDA review and contract database management. Initial contract duration is 3 months, with potential extension until an internal successor is selected.
The Legal Department supports all business units and corporate functions globally by ensuring legal compliance, enabling transactions, safeguarding company interests, and coordinating governance activities across jurisdictions. The team collaborates closely with local entities, external advisors, and cross-functional stakeholders, offering high-quality legal support in corporate, commercial, regulatory, and compliance matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Supporting the regional legal team for Europe and Africa.
- Advising, drafting and assisting in the negotiation of confidentiality agreements and promoting the use of group templates.
- Contract management based on the globally used contract database (coordination of regional access rights, training of users, ensuring data quality, etc.).
- Providing support in corporate law activities when necessary.
- Supporting in-house lawyers in their daily work, including advising, drafting and negotiating contracts with external partners and, if necessary, administrative support.
- Preparation of evaluations and reports on request.
- Administrative support in projects.
Technical Profile Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in law (or Legal Studies) or a recognized Paralegal/Legal Assistant Certificate.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience, e.g. in a law or notary office (also as a project lawyer), a public authority or the legal department of a company.
- Knowledge of contract law and, if applicable, corporate law.
- Good computer skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) as well as legal software, databases and tools.

Working Location
- Brussels, Belgium.
- Minimum of 3 days onsite per week.
- More onsite presence required during the onboarding period.
Language Proficiencies
- Fluent English (working language for NDAs and database).
- Good command of German (daily local communication).
- Dutch is considered a plus.
