Job Title: Deputy Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Leadership & Coordination
- Act as local project lead on site in Lulea, representing the project organization.
- Coordinate activities between:
- Project team
- Construction/EPC
- District heating
- Engineering partners and contractors
- Ensure effective communication and resolution of cross-functional issues.

2. Engineering Oversight & Follow-up (EPC Interface)
- Maintain overall visibility and control of engineering progress, ensuring that engineering activities led by EPC are progressing in line with project needs and schedule.
- Follow up that:
- Decisions taken in engineering meetings are implemented by the responsible parties
- Agreed actions are being progressed and closed without delay
- Act as a monitoring and escalation point, ensuring that:
- Open engineering topics do not stall
- Required inputs from site or project are provided in time
- Interfaces impacting construction are addressed
- Ensure that engineering output is sufficiently mature and available to support planned construction activities.
- Escalate to Project Director where:
- Engineering progress deviates from agreed timeline
- Decisions are not followed through
- Lack of clarity or delivery risks impact site execution

3. Construction Coordination
- Act as primary on-site contact towards construction contractor
- Ensure that construction-related questions are addressed in a timely manner.
- Support:
- Site coordination meetings
- Interface management between contractors
- Resolution of construction issues
- Ensure construction activities meet schedule, quality, and compliance requirements.

4. Compliance & Governance
- Ensure that all project activities comply with:
- Technical specifications
- Project requirements
- HSE standards
- Environmental permits and contractual obligations
- Support implementation of project governance and reporting routines.

5. Progress Monitoring & Reporting
- Monitor and report site progress versus plan.
- Identify deviations related to:
- Schedule
- Cost
- Scope
- Ensure early escalation of risks and delays.

6. Quality Assurance
- Ensure that construction and installation works meet required quality standards.
- Verify that:
- Work is executed according to approved drawings and specifications
- Inspections and quality documentation are completed
- Support QA/QC processes together with site teams.

7. District Heating Interface
- Coordinate project activities related to district heating system integration.
- Ensure alignment on:
- Pipeline routing and interfaces
- Take-over points and system integration
- Operational and technical requirements

Key Deliverables
- Clear and up-to-date site coordination and issue logs
- Timely closure of engineering and construction queries
- Accurate progress reporting and risk escalation
- Verified quality compliance on site
- Smooth coordination between all EPC and Engineering Consultancy parties

Requirements

Required Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Experience in:
- Large industrial or infrastructure projects
- Construction site coordination
- Contractor and interface management
- Strong knowledge of:
- Engineering workflows
- Construction execution processes
- HSE and quality standards
