Contracts Lead - Barzan Restoration Onshore Major Projects

Job Purpose

Lead hands-on pre and post-award contract management activities related to a reimbursable contract for the Damage Assessment, Demolition, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction of Barzan facilities. Contribute to the safe delivery of the project on time and on budget.

Key Responsibilities

• Undertake commercial and contracting activities for all aspects of pre and post-award contract management related to Damage Assessment, Demolition, Engineering, Procurement, and Construction contracts.
• Support delivery of actions within the Value Protection plan and manage contractual correspondence and changes in line with approved processes to deliver best value for the project and stakeholders.
• Identify contractual risks and advise on mitigation strategies.
• Contribute to regular commercial and contract performance reports for project leadership.
• Work with Supply and Performance & Delivery teams to ensure a robust and streamlined call for tender process.
• Collaborate with Claims teams to ensure robust management of any claims and disputes that may arise.
• Maintain close and effective relationships with Project Management Team members and Functional Managers, Legal, and Risk Management to obtain and provide information regarding contract issues and mitigation strategies.
• Coordinate preparation for contract evaluations and end of contract close-outs in accordance with relevant procedures.
• Work effectively in a highly visible project environment with large capital expenditures and significant schedule execution pressures, demonstrating accuracy, initiative, and the ability to multi-task.
• Ensure all activities are undertaken in compliance with Safety, Health, Environment, and Quality policies, regulations, and standards.
• Contribute to the development of local national employees.
• Ensure all activities comply with anti-trust and competition laws and firewall policies and procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Commercial, Marketing, Sciences, Engineering, Project Management, Supply Chain Management, Law, Communication, Technologies, Mathematics, or Statistics.
• Minimum 8 years' experience in a business-related function or discipline, including 4 years in the Oil & Gas industry, and at least 1 year in a supervisory or oversight role of contractor/subcontractor/service/vendor personnel.
• Experience in major energy projects (post-award) in a similar position, including experience with reimbursable contracts.
• Hands-on experience managing contractors, including drafting contractual correspondence, managing change orders/variations, and providing timely contractual advice to project management teams.
• Strong influencing skills and business/risk acumen.
• Experience in legal and dispute claims resolution is an advantage.
• Capable of writing well-documented commercial correspondences.
• Strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with team leadership qualities.
• Ability to drive a culture of continuous improvement, balancing quick wins and overall strategic roadmap.
