Key Responsibilities

  • Provide design and engineering expertise for subsea umbilicals and power cables in the oil & gas industry.
  • Oversee and deliver the umbilical and power cables package for major offshore EPIC (Engineering, Procurement, Installation & Commissioning) projects.
  • Manage EPIC contractors and vendors in discipline-related activities for large-scale projects.
  • Review documents with respect to quality, safety, and compliance with project design basis and standards.
  • Recommend approval or rejection of technical deviations or change requests.
  • Resolve technical challenges and act as liaison with other disciplines and external stakeholders.
  • Participate in subsea umbilical and power cable crossing design, loadout, installation, and operational procedures such as J-tube pulling and shore pulling analysis.
  • Contribute to subsea umbilical pre-commissioning and commissioning operations.

Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years relevant post graduate experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 10 years specifically in subsea umbilical and cable design and engineering.
  • Expertise in design and engineering of subsea umbilicals.
  • Direct responsibility for umbilical and power cable package delivery in at least 2 major offshore EPIC oil & gas projects.
  • PMT/PMC experience and strong ability to manage both contractors and vendors on large projects.
  • Extensive knowledge of relevant umbilical design codes and standards (ISO, API, Shell DEPs).
  • Proven experience in umbilical manufacturing and testing, with the ability to assess technical documentation for quality and safety.
  • Experience with technical challenges and the ability to coordinate with internal and external parties.
  • Experience in subsea umbilical and power cable crossing design, loadout, installation, and related operational procedures.
  • Understanding of subsea umbilical pre-commissioning and commissioning operations.
  • Previous work experience with an umbilical manufacturer is preferred.
