Kintec are currently partnered with a leading multinational materials technology company. They are currently recruiting for Employee Relations & Labour Law Consultant to be based in Brussels, Belgium.
Department Description and Responsibilities
This is a senior hands-on advisory role combining strategic employee relations, labour law expertise and change management support. Role will be part of the Employee Relations (ER) function in Belgium and will report to Employee Relations & Labour law lead.
Primary Tasks and Responsibilities
Social Relations

Strategic legal advice regarding change & reorganization

Advise and support P&O and business leadership during reorganizations, Mergers & Acquisitions, or other structural changes in Belgium.

Collaborate with legal and finance to manage consultation processes, develop social plans, and ensure compliance with labor regulations.

Develop and implement ER strategies aligned with Belgian labor law and collective labor agreements (CLAs).

Advise P&O teams and management on complex or high-risk disciplinary cases, social disputes, grievances, conflict resolution, and terminations.

Ensure consistent and legally compliant application of P&O policies and CLAs across Belgian sites.

Day to day or recurring topics (e.g., CLA matters).

Support employee representative body processes at both Belgian and European level
Labour Law

Oversee the development and maintenance of legally sound P&O and ER policies.

Monitor developments in Belgian and EU labor law (e.g., social legislation, social security, changes).

Translate legal and regulatory updates into practical tools: guidelines, CLAs, templates, or advisory notes.

Deliver targeted training to P&O colleagues and managers on labor law, internal policies.

Advise and support P&O and business leadership during reorganizations, Mergers & Acquisitions, site closures, , or other structural changes in Belgium.
Non-Technical Profile Requirements

Deep knowledge of Belgian social relations & employment legislation

Experience with transformational projects

Ability to analyze complex legal texts but deliver a practical solution to the business (solution oriented)

Proven ability to engage with senior business leaders, HR leadership, trade unions and employee representative bodies

Project management skills

Experience in manufacturing, industrial or unionized environments is strongly preferred
Methodology / Certification Requirements

Belgian Master's Degree in Law or equivalent through relevant expertise and professional experience.

Project Management certification or demonstrable project management experience.

Change Management experience and methodologies.

Employee Relations or Labor Law specialization.
Language Proficiencies

Dutch: Native speaker (mandatory)

English: Professional working proficiency (mandatory)
